B&W TV  ???

Featured Replies

I was just wondering. I tend to like some of the old western stough and war movies etc. maybe some old Andy Griffith on occasion. It doesn't bother me whatsoever to watch Black and White Tv.

Does it bother you?

I was from the generation where very young B&W then around 12 or so color came to the Crum household. My kids think watching B&W is crazy. Just courious on your take.

Maybe let me know if you are over 25 as I am courious on the young and old aspect.

I'm under 25 and I don't mind B&W tv. My favorite movie (Clerks) is in B&W and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Some of the best movies/shows are in black and white.

lets see, Combat, Random war movies, anything else but can not think of.

I still have a small B&W TV at our fishing camp.  I remember getting that thing when I was a kid.  I like watching the B&W classics still to this day.

I wouldn't say I LIKE it but I can watch it and not be bothered.

On the contrary, I HATE it when they colorize an original B&W!!  >:(

I still enjoy B&W. Honeymooners, Rawhide, Andy Griffith and many others will always be enjoyable.  In fact, John Wayne was just on yesterday in a B&W classic war movie.

yup, I recall the B&W days.  The old sci-fi's are especially my favs.   But then again, I remember most of the 70's shows as B&W because my family was too poor to get a color set.  When we finally did get a color set in '78, man was I ever surprised to see the Brady Bunch, Emergency, the Carol Burnett Show, and the Hollywood Squares in color!

Oh, and movies?  Holy cow - Rudolph, Wizard of Oz, Frosty, etc. - it was like seeing them for the first time again when finally got a color set! LOL

Well im 15 and i like some shows in black and white. One of my favorites is Andy Griffith.

There are some shows that are always going to be best B&W.  The Honey Mooners and such.  I even prefer the classic westerns in B&W.

Some things are best left alone. Classic B&W TV programs like the ones already mentioned are a fine example of that. I've seen many of the movies that were computer "colorized" and they almost all LOST something in the transition. Just my thoughts on the subject.

I wouldn't watch the Stooges any other way.

Here is a man with his priorities in order.  The stooges are still funny after all these years.  I never get tired of the slaps and hair ripping. ;D

I'm over 25 (way over) and like others have said, some shows just wouldn't be the same with color. On the other hand, when my girls were still kids if they had to watch something not in color they figured they were being punished.
