kneecap.  ;)

$3.469 for regular unleaded here now.  Cost me $50 to fill up my wife's car yesterday, wasn't that long ago that I could fill that thing up for $30.

I foresee a lot of 50 acre fishing in my future.

I see a 9.9 hp Evinrude in my future....put 20 gallons in the boat and filled up the Tahoe last night. That was the most money I've ever dropped at a convenience store without bringing home any beer.

I remember my dad breaking $110 last year to fill up his 3500 Duramax!

Yup, the "Little Boats, Big Fish" club is gonna get a little bigger this yr :)

That is a true statement right there. I ran out all 20 gallons today plus what was in there already.....back to the gas station in the a.m.

I feel your pain.  We dropped $150 in GA last month to fill up the truck and fill one tank on the boat.

Times like these make me glad my boat only has a 12 gallon tank.

I've been averaging around $50 per tankful here in So Cal on each of our 2 cars and my Explorer for the past 2 months and that's at the Exchange gas station. My wife filled her Camry last night on the way home from work and it came to a little over $54.00. Guess some OPEC ****** will be able tp put more Rolls Royces behind their many palaces!! Better get my butt back in cycling shape so I can start riding my bike to work if necessary. Good thing I carpool to work with my neighbor. That keeps my Explorer sitting in the driveway until I use it for fishing trips and Otay is only about 15 minutes away.

Hey guys,

We get our mosf of our oil from Canada and Mexico.

Big oil field just found in North Dakota and drilling has begun.

Only 2,000 acres are needed to hit the big oil in Alaska.

And if fishing is our only vice then it is money well spent.

Yup, the "Little Boats, Big Fish" club is gonna get a little bigger this yr :)

I'm already on the hunt.  Why drag the 18 1/2 footer to 9.9hp/electric limited or no-wake lakes?

I've been scanning roadsides, craigslist, etc.  I'm finding myself as excited about buying some old 14 ft semi-V and fixing it up as I was about getting a new fiberglass rig.  I must have a screw loose or something.   :D

My dad is giving me his 75hp powered 17ft monarch this summer (unless he changes his mind)  That little boat is economical enough I guess with that 4 stroke on it.  I've canceled all hopes of owning a high power glas rig until they come up with an engine that is more economical.

Maybe make one that runs off of luck or good looks ;D

I have a 15' jon boat with a 15hp 4 stroke.  I can fish all day long and cover a lot of ground on half of my 3 gallon tank :).  Getting the boat 30 miles to and from the lake in my Silverado is the other problem.

Guys I feel for you all with the big boats and big haulers. Spending that kind of money just to get on the water would kill my enthusium for fishing.

I was regretting not buying a bass boat (Nitro, Ranger or Tracker) with a nice size outboard. Now I am glad I bought my 16 foot Lowe V-Hull with a 25hp outboard I can make 5 gallons last a few weeks where we fish on the Potomac. I can only imagine how much I would have been spending if I bought what I had really wanted. It kind of funny how thigs work out.

Yep Burley, I guess we are blessed to have an bundance of small lakes around us that we won't be spending a fortune on gas to get to them and using no gas in the boat.   Makes that 14' jon i got a couple months back that much nicer.  Also that place I went and checked out yesterday evenin, 5 big ponds all right in one area and fish in all of'em.  :)

Filled the wife's car up Tuesday night, Gas was $3.44 a gallon, Wednesday morning the same station was at $3.39, Thursady morning it was $3.43 a gallon. Luckly my wife works 2 miles from the house and I am only using a tank every two weeks in my Nissan Xterra. I can fill my john boat up and a tank will last almost half the summer. The lake I fish isn't very big and I do not run fast because of stumps. Saltwater trips use more gas but those are few and far between. >:(

9 Miles and I can be to my honey holes, 15 and I can be on some small lakes, and having a small 2 man boat with a trolling motor helps but that does not mean I like it.  >:(

And just to think, my wife wants me to sell my Aluminum Triton with the 90hp...... I think I'll keep it for a while. I may not be faster than the other boats in the tournament but I am spending less money to get there.  :)

On the trip to Guntersville, Speedbead and I calculated the Bassbus burns about $1 worth of gas every 2 1/2 minutes. 36 hours to Guntersville round trip. As much as I love the Bassbus, if the gas prices don't moderate, it will be impractical for me to keep it.

On the boat side of things, my 16' aluminum V has 3 TMs and gets great mileage.  :)
