I thought that URL was verboten here.

I did also, oh well.  I have both a myspace and a facebook, but I am a much bigger fan of myspace because it is easier to use and there are less notifications and all that extra stuff.

I have MY SPACE and you're in so get OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was removed from the site filters as many pro anglers are using it to network as well as many of our tournament guys here.

Other than that, if you have children, it's up to you to oversee where they surf.  MySpace is one place no kid of mine would ever be allowed to have an account with.  This site leaves you extremely vulnerable to internet predation.

But again, this is a parents responsibility.

The dangers involved are directly related to how naive your child is.  Most, are VERY naive.  Nothing against the youth, we can only expect them to know the things WE TEACH THEM.

Daiwa- You need a quick education on how to protect yourself online.  I have some good reading for your parents if they are interested but you, in particular, are a WIDE OPEN target.  Be careful.

This is nothing personal towards Daiwa, but you guys need to really use your head when it comes to this stuff,...."It'll never happen to me"  isn't a smart way to view the internet.  Protect yourselves please!!!!!

I dissagree a younger person (14) and I think most of up have enough sense to not meet a random person alone in a remote area :P

Then again there are some younger kids now getting full acesss in the internet on myspace at 10 years of age.

So i actually agree with you :D :-?

if u jus make your account private and dont put on ur adress then i dont see the harm in it?

LBH plz explain how you are vulnerable if only ppl who you add yourself as your friend can see your profile

and if you dont have personal info such  as an adress then i dont understand how you are vulnerable???? :o

Your main vulnerability is thinking,..."It could never happen to me."

Naitivity

EVERYONE is vulnerable to the internet but youths are less experienced in life, they just haven't seen as much deception as someone who has been around longer.  It's not a reflection on a kids intelligence at all.  Lack of awareness and ignorance are however.

Like I said, we are all vulnerable so if you prey on kids, where do you hunt?  A place where they gather in the masses so you have plenty to choose from.

These people are out there.  Set up your account as "private" if you like but if you think you are protected now,...you are wrong.  Think about it, people hack into banking systems and govt systems every day,...do you really think myspace is a fortress?  Step back, look at the big picture.

and for what it's worth, I'm just trying to keep you guys aware, I'm not being mr negative.

**crzy- I won't post your personal info but go look in your PM box and see what I just found on you in 30 seconds.

My parents are looking at it all the time.

So they are aware that someone who has never met you, like me, can get the info on you that I did?  Did you show them my PM to you?  They're ok with that?  I seriously doubt that would make a parent comfortable.

I would have a Myspace but I don't want another stalker, I already have one who lives in Coeburn.

I have a facebook. With most social networking sites you can put out and protect as much information as you want; you just have to be smart about it. I feel like I am a big and old enough boy to take care of myself. Add me if you want! It's listed as my website. I got tired of advertisements and completely random people on Myspace.

yea i think ill stick with facebook

That's the way I feel about it as well.
