Call it what you will but I call it JUSTICE!

Heck the guy jumped out a three story window, I fell off the back porch and looked worst than that. ;D

The police still cannot take justice into their own hands.  That is what makes the US the US. (Please no diatribes about the state of crime here.  If you want to live where the police dish out the justice,  you know where the door is.)   Here in MD a month or so back,  a guy ran over with his car and killed a Prince Georges County police officer.  He was caught dead to rights and apprehended.  He was found dead in his holding cell two or so days later.  The media coverage of the killing of the murderer far out weighed the death and funeral of the officer.  It was a shame but,  that is how it went.  Now,  the officer is dead and buried.  His family,  friends and fellow officers still grieve.  The killing of the murderer in jail and the violation of his civil rights and his mourning family, blah, blah, blah,  are still in the news.  The justice system (even with its flaws) must be allowed to work.

The article says he resisted arrest; well of course some (if not all) his injuries came about during the struggle to apprehend this MURDERER. They have him dead to rights on the murder of the officer let alone the old lady he stabbed. They should have saved the taxpayers a ton of cash and ended this guy's life.

Also; what the heck was that officer doing in an interview room with his gun on and that guy NOT handcuffed?!!! Not following procedure I'll wager.  :o

As Americans, we give the police the right to make decissions in the heat of the moment. None of us can make that decission on what they should have done, nor can a judge, we weren't there. That's how it is intended to be. Sadly, it doesn't happen that way often.

This whole story is pretty disturbing.   It raises alot of questions about the police dept procedures in Providence.  I mean, a guy being questioned for murder is able to disarm and murder a police officer with his own gun in the police station?

I don't know how he got that beating, but what's with the mask?  I don't think many criminals on trial for their life will choose to wear a mask when presenting themselves to a jury.  What's next? professional makeovers for ugly chicks so the jury will believe they could make a living as hookers?

The mask is a 'spit guard' to prohibit him from spitting saliva, blood, snot etc on officers and/or officials.

Keep going back to he disarmed a cop and killed him with his own gun. Sounds like this guy knows how to fight and therefore probably put up quite a struggle with police that were trying to arrest him. Maybe the cops got in one too many punches but this dirtbag's rights were none existant the moment he pulled the trigger. He was a suspect in another murder to that point and was presumed innocent to that point. His rights became a moot point once he killed that policeman.

-Many of his injuries happened during the ORIGINAL apprehension.  BEFORE he took a leap out a 3 story window (which only made him prettier)

-Procedure was broken-firearm in interrogation.  Trust me, he paid for his mistake with a bullet to the chest.  He won't do that again.

-The spit guard was put on at the dept of corrections where he had a confrontation with a guard and did indeed attempt to spit and BITE another officer.

Believe me,  I'm with you but,  these the comparisons you bring are apples and oranges.  One the state of  justice in this country,  one the state of liberal moral beliefs of this country. :-[

Yeah, big story here a few years back.

As a fellow police officer myself, I think he got exactly exactly what he deserved. I understand that some people think that it is terrible that this criminal lost his life. But what about the Police Officer??? This guy killed a fellow cop and they thought they could just put him in jail in the same area that the cop worked?? No way I don't know who kill this guy but I think justice was served. Although some people think he should just do a life sentence while I am totally against any life sentences. Since people are in jail someone has to feed them and that someone is You, Me and everyone in the USA that pay taxes. I like the old DEATH SENTENCE myself!!!

Just my 2 cents but I feel strongly about this type of stuff.

Nitroman, you and I would get along just fine. There is a man on deathrow here in Texas that killed a member of my family(He was serving a warrant). Shot the officer five times in the chest. That was 24 years ago and he is still sitting on death row. I have a seat reserved at the deathhouse if it ever happens.

This guy has been tried three times and given the death sentence three times and still he sits. All the inmates refer to him as god because he has beaten the thing so long.

Hell yea, I thought I would catch alot of crap for putting that on here but I'm glad to see someone agrees with me.

ya got another one here NM. you see it up close everyday don't ya? Tell us all somethen--do you really see them turn around?

I was close one time at the age of 22 on joining the force-but after a long self search I decided not to because of how angry I'd get about the system flow turn around ::)

I say let the prisons be self sufficient , grow thier own veges and meat ;) If the crime warrants them still alive then they should live to keep themselves alive by being self sufficient , no more tax payer help.

As for the death penalty, cold blooded murder, and molesters are top reasons they should have thier necks stretched >:(

as for stealing--1st, 2cnd and 3rd strike-chop off the arms, no more stealing :)

Runnen from the law in a motor vehicle should be assualt with a deadly weapon period. 3rd strike warrants the death penalty :)

sorry guys but If they have no respect for life as stated above, then theres no use in having them here to cause more harm and pain.

some things warrant second chances, other things don't warrant a chance at all

Believe me,  I'm with you but,  these the comparisons you bring are apples and oranges.  One the state of  justice in this country,  one the state of liberal moral beliefs of this country.

Sorry BB I think that statement right there has us not seeing eye to eye on this. The system is failing because IT HAS NO MORALS anymore.

Look at whats happened,   lets see, we want to study the murderers and molesters, we want to treat everything now-a-days, from crime to sickness. When was the last time they really cured anything disastrous- Cancer, Aids and Killers.   :'(

Fishingbuds,

I very rarely see any type of turn around!

I do not work in a large jail, I work in the largest county in the state of Va but we are pretty much an agricultural based county. Just a few cities and only 1 decent sized city. I pretty much see the same faces all the time. They seem to not care and our justice system really needs to get A LOT more harsh!!! I am so tired of dealing with the same people day in and day out. They get out of jail from a 20 day sentence on a DUI and 6 months later... They are back in for their next DUI, and then they get another 20 days!!! It really isn't fair. I know life isnt fair but sometimes I just wish they really think about this kind of crap!!! I get so mad talking about this subject but I really would have to agree with you on this subject fishingbuds. Some people do not listen and something should be done about it. One thing I do not understand in Va is that people who do not pay their child support usually get more time then the people who rob people... What the hell is going on here??????? >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

I love the idea on the chair and lethal injection but... all I can do is sit back and watch them get 10 days for this and be right back in jail in 30 days.

Okay I'm done venting HAHA ;)

yep, stinks

Child support should go to an account set up for the kid-used for the kid.

I'm tired of seeing guys going to jail on getting behind on the support payments, they'll quit it because the EX is using it for the new boy friends or drugs and not the kids

yep monitors need to lock this one down, its going no where and just making us mad >:(
