Proud new owner of a Co

We were handed 30% ESOP in our privately held co today.

This is in addition to our 401K and co match, profit sharing and anything else we have. Just added to and handed to us.

It looks like it might be around 30-50K for a 50K salary (not 100% sure on that.

Plus I've only been back for 2 months but they are going to credit me with my 6year previous stint thus fully vested!!!  Wooohooo!

WOW!!  :o  What company do you work for?  Clearly they view employees as assets rather than liabilities and/or expendable.

Congrats!!

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I work for a local electrical distibutor. I am in a splinter group that supports all 12 branches accross the state of IL. I mainly cover factory automation products. I previously worked there for 6 years. They recently asked me to come back.

Two months ago my day consisted of " how many feet of chain with that hoist".

In 4 hours today the discussion covered, plc's drives, Modbus+, Can open, Device Net. Ethernet, Ethernet Tcip, Ethernet CIP, IP, servo's, motion, I/O, Ethernet switches, remote I/O, 2.4 ghz remote antennas, Modbs plus to USB converters.........etc etc

This job is truly food for the brain for the next 20 years

Shhhhhhhhh......don't let the Bait Monkey hear about all those new funds. ;D

Congratulations, you deserve it. :)

Matt!

It comes full swing friend! Fortune favors the bold buddy.

You've earned it.

Burley I've seen you mention Scada before so aren't you in this game as well? I thought your post about flash drives mentioned machine tools as well. Or are you mainly involved from a computer support aspect only?

Strictly amatuer.  I'm the only one at work with computer experience, so I got thrown into the job.

And my qualifications aren't that good.   :-/

I've taken a couple of SCADA programming classes.  Now waiting for the boss to give the go-ahead for a complete overhaul of our system (a $200K project).

IOW, I just play with the stuff.

Congratulations, always happy to hear when a good guy wins.   :)

Thanks Robert,

Quite a compliment coming from a class act such as yourself.

Burley,

What are you overhauling the computer system? the Scada? the machine tool controls? or all of the above? plc's?

What kind of business is your Scada keeping track of in general?

Well I can't speak that language(what you and Burley are talkin' about) but CONGRATS MAN! Sounds like life is lookin' up for you!  :)
