Featured Replies

my wife was feeling ill friday night and trying to be a concerned and helpful husband i decided to do the laundry which i do like 3 times a year but since her diverticulitis pain was acting up i figured i would give it a shot  well in the process of loading i didn't check her pockets and washed her new cell phone , is there any chance of it working again i took it apart and have it sitting underneath the ceiling fan to try and dry it outdoes anybody else have any other ideas /. thanks.

Believe it or not my buddy put his in the oven a couple times at 150,said it worked great. He has an older nokia though.I don't know about that, just figured I'd throw it out there.LOL

I dropped my razor in the toilet DOH!!!!

Also got rained on twice and so far it started working again after a few days.

Do you have insurance or an extra warranty plan for the phone? You can usually get it replaced for free or little cost depending on who your carrier is.

Take the battery out and dry it for a few days.Maybe also try a blow dryer? :-?

The oven tricked worked on a calculator. Water bottle opened in my backpack, so my dad tried the oven thing. Calculator went from not turning on to working like normal.

Don't try to turn it on, take the battery out and stick the phone in a bag of rice. Let it there for a day or so. The rice will absorb the water, it its dry turn it on, if it still has some water repeat with fresh rice for another day.

I dropped mine in the lake under a dock....couldnt find it for 5 minutes. Took the battery out and the screen had some water in it. Let it sit out for 24 hours and put the battery back in and worked fine.

My old phone went swimming 7 times last year and was still working when I upgraded.

Sometimes it worked 3 hours after a complete dunking, sometimes it took a couple of days.

The washer presents a different set of problems than falling into a pond, or getting drenched with rain.

Had a Canon camera that got drenched in a downpour.  In the viewfinder, everything was lit up.

Pulled the batteries, and let it sit for a few days.  It recovered nicely.

Chemicals in detergents, softeners and bleaches might cause corrosion problems.  No amount of drying will cure those.

I've heard this works amazingly well.

the bag of rice trick works really well. Do it at least two times to make sure it is completely dry. The water doesn't hurt the phone it is the current when you try to turn the phone on when there is water on the board that hurts the device. A device that works when wet will eventually corrode from having water touching metal parts and eventually fail. Make sure you get it completely dry.
