anyone have a special technique for wading with multiple [1 pc.] rods?

Make a hardhat with a rod rack on it.

It seems like you could make a pretty simple rod belt with a shoulder harness that would hold a few rods on your back, maybe going to one side so you could overhand cast easier.

I never did anything fancy -there is a commercial rod sling out there -holds one rod. I just stuffed a rod in each hip boot, and one in my hand. A bit awkward, but it worked.

i've mastered this technique, seeing as i'm shirtless when wading i have a mesh/net type pullstring backpack that i wear with tackle in it, mesh so i can see in it without opening it when i'm searching that and it doesnt fill up with water, but i stick the rod reel first down my back in between the back pack and my back like sword and i simply stick the butt of the rod in my waist band, works perfect...

I've tried diffent things, but I've had better luck just sticking with one rod and leaving the spare in my car. The places I wade go from 6 inches to 6 feet in a hurry, and it's just easier with one.

Get one of these and float it beside you lol

I made a rod quiver with one purpose of having it hold rods close to me while fishing so I don't have to walk back to the shore nor risk it getting stolen during a moment's inattention.

It will float with small pontoons, the same kind used for crabbing. It would also be attached to me via a caribeaner and leash.

BTW, it won't work too well in choppy or fast moving water.

There is a product called 3rd grip rod holster that you wear around your waist. I've used mine for 3yrs. It is comfortable enough that I forget I am wearing it as it conviently stores your second rod out of the way. Great invention.

They have them at Academy...  shockingly enough it's called a rod holder...  or you can buy the entire set up... it's a wading belt with rod holder.  ;D

I use an innertube for a 8" trailer tire. I put a little plastic basket inside the hole to hold extra lures and just lay one or two rods across the tube held down with a small bungee cord. I tie the tube to me with about 5' of rope.

I have the pressure let off some for storage.

Great stuff here. I'm a small water angler and think this is great.

ditto to Trevor its free and works well, just lean the rod to the opposite shoulder then you use to cast and it stays out of the way.

I just put the handle of the rod in the back of my waders on the opposite side of where your casting.Just pay attention that your rod stays cocked the right way.I didnt one day and it cost me about an inch of my rod tip.

I take a long cargo bungee cord and loop one hook end around the handle at the reel.  I take the other hook end and loop it through a rod guide .  I the wear the it like a rifle sling with the top of the rod behind my left shoulder since I throw with my right hand.  It always pays to have an extra rod and reel when wading a couple of miles down a creek.

thats a nice, quick solution, i think i might try that next time.
