Went to head out this morning in the boat, first chance for that in two months. Get to the storage area to find my 25 horse motor was stolen, now waiting for a cop to show so I can report it.....my days of having a boat are over

That is horrible. Does the storage area have cameras? Man I hope the cops catch those dirtbags.

I hope they catch them and I hate to hear stories like this, but why are you days owing a boat over?

Days of a boat are over, I can't afford to put a new motor on it. And even if I could I would have to leave it in the same place.

The area is not covered by camera's, we have tried to get the HOA to put them in but they refuse. All totaled this year between my wife and myself we have had over $6k in damage to our vehicles and now this. Its locked, supposedly secure store for the boat.

Sorry to hear it, I just hope they can find the scumbag.

If you havent signed anything waiving the right to go after them for your possessions being stolen or vandalized go after them. I want to hear more about this... :-?

Well bassn, that is already started. Already spoke to them, and talked to a board member. They charge a monthly fee for this locked, secure storage. There is no waiver of rights for stolen items, since this is the case they will cover the cost. The annual meeting for the HOA is tomorrow, I will be there to display my displeasure about the camera's and push for them.

And I mis-typed earlier the total loss this year is 8k total. One of the cars is still at the body shop after someone took a walk across it.

Its time to find a new place to live. I doubt cameras are going to totally fix this problem. Sounds like a bad area if things are always being vandalized or stolen.

Tell the HOA they are retarded. I mean really for what it is going to cost them in paying for these losses, they could put in the most advanced IR camera and security systems out there. There is no rational reason to not install one. If you are taking losses like this cost is just a plain ridiculous argument. Heck for $100 I installed a wireless motion sensor camera within my own home.

Sounds to me like their inaction to this point has made them/you a target for these people. They will need to go to extremes to force the criminals to move on. Personally, things like that would put me to the point of selling my place and getting on out of dodge.

Good luck on your "discussion" at the meeting. Give 'em heck!

That sucks. I'd be mad too!

Good luck and raise hell.

Sorry to hear that, I plan on getting a boat too and I hope this doesn't happen to me.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Wish I had one laying around, I'd send it to you.

Good luck,

Jack
