Just saw a 6 year old that climbed into home made balloon that parents made and he lifted off.   CNN LIVE

Rescue over eastern Colorado on going.

Looks like a flying saucer, ufo.

Prayers with the six year old.

Report that his siblings said the little boy was playing in the basket before the ballon took off.

Wasn't in the basket when it hit the ground.

Dad was weather chaser.

whereabouts of the six year old is unknown at this time.

I got nothing. I dont even know where to start on this one. Hope everyone turns out to be safe. Thats all I got. :-X :-/ :-X

I sure hope this one ends well.    This family was on ABC's wife swapping show.

Like reported, the kid may have let it go and he's in hiding, or a publicity stunt, or ??????

As I type this Wolf Blitzer is saying he was found and ok. His name is Falcon? Whisky Tango Foxtrot?

Did anyone else immediately picture a baby in a clear red balloon? When I first read the post I pictured a baby in a regular party balloon and thought it was a joke...

Well, I am so glad they find this kid alive and well.

I did not think I would ever have need to say this, but..when one has multiple kids, amongst the top items to NOT leave unattended and unlocked in the backyard....a very large experimental balloon, filled with helium, tethered so lightly a 6 yr old can undo it.

Just putting it out there.

Geez...

This story is unbelievable. I'm glad things worked out.

the whole thing reminded me of the movie 12 Monkeys and the little boy down the well.

The media got thrown for a loop. It's pathetic. Based on "body language" the police believed the guy, and it was just assumed he was telling the truth. I'd be a lot of money it was a publicity stunt. Shame on that family for making so many people worry and pray.

The kid blurted out "It's for the show".

An investigation needs to be taken place and the parents needs to be charged and fined now for misusing 911 services if this was a publicity stunt. From the sound of it and the way that kid said it...wouldn't be surprise if this whole thing was set up.

This is crazy!! I heard the dad rambling on the news before I left for work. I can't believe they would name him Falcon!!

I hope I don't sound insensitive here, but seriously we wasted an hour of our day or half our day watching an empty balloon....  ::)

I love how CNN says "The world watched in horror", while I didn't waste a second of my day on this. Don't care. Sorry.

My sister in law didn't appreciate what I said about that. But honestly, this kind of thing is local and regional news material. Amber alert shouldn't be reported on CNN, only thing CNN should report is what country is making threats to U.S. Someone in Florida, or Alaska doesn't neccassarily need to know what going on in Colorado, this news could overshadow a current Amber Alert in their local area. Just my 2 cent.

How is it someone in my area with Amber Alert is stuck on local and regional news, but a balloon floating in air with believed to be a missing kid inside of the balloon makes world wide news? Seriously? ::)

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the kid is safe and all, but it shouldn't have been on CNN is all I'm saying.

my parents were upset that  i didn't give two s#^%@ about this, looks who's laughing now.

Why I happened to watch I have no idea but I saw the whole episode of this family on wifeswap or as much as I could stand of it one of the 2.

This is one seriously whacked out family. You wouldn't believe it. The guy is a bonafide nut or a great actor one of the 2.

You can bet there is a wifeswap re-run coming up shortly.

I just read that the authorities were on the verge of filing charges against the family.

Totally agree.  I used to work for a network news station, and I can tell you the "news" is all about hype and sensationalism.  It's NOT about accurate reporting or "news".  They prioritize stories based on retaining viewers.

Case-in-point:  watch your local news and count how many times they say the word "local", "neighborhood", or "neighbors"; or take a national story and put some sort of "local" twist on it to seemingly make it relevant to your area.  That's an effort to make it sound more important to you, so you'll keep watching.  Take those words or twists out, and you'll see how useless most of those stories are.
