Wow, what a critter.

The first question that pops into my mind is... How old does a gator have to be to get to that size?

The next is... How many boots would that thing make?

The truck has Florida plates. And if a gator that big was killed, the news would have covered it. I live 15 minutes from there. None of my Vidorian coworkers/redneck buddies brought it up.

That alligator was killed in Florida, on September 20th, just south of Jacksonville.

I don't know but I have it from a pretty good person ;)

Google "Robert Gatling alligator" and you find some credible sources.

Those pictures were sent out in mass emails, all claiming different locations. Don't always believe what you see!   ;)

I saw a fat monster gator sunning on the bank of Uncle Joe's cut at Lake O earlier in 2009. The other gators (8') nearby looked like iguanas.

Why did they kill it? Was it eating whole families?

without a doubt, it was from the st. johns in florida....man that's a lot of meat. lucky dude

I would post links, but I don't have 10 posts. A simple Google search yields a lot of credible sources!  ;)

Yup, but is he going to supply an all-you-can-eat buffet with it?    ;D

He might need  a bigger freezer.

Boys, all I know is that if I had to contend with critters like that to go fishing, I wouldn't be going fishing :o.

This is one of George Welcome's pets. He lives at the west end of the center dike between the Marsh and the Farm.  I see hundreds of gators every year and this guy was at least 12 feet.

We had a short lived disagreement about whos fishing spot I was on. I caught a 2 pounder and he chased it almost to the boat. The closer he got, the smaller my 21' boat seemed.

He won, I left.

I'm extremely sorry my computer locked up and I just got it working this morning; I was checking out your google search when the computer locked up posting only the above reply. It appears this email is like the one with the gator and the deer which has appeared every where.

Reguardless of where it was killed all you have to do is run the Neches river just north of Beaumont, Vidor, and the Orange area and you will find several in this class. Huge gators in this area.

Or around Port Arthur, in Taylor's bayou. All around the Neches river, Intracoastal canal. We have ton's of them out here where I work in Sabine Pass.

man that suckers huge!

I don't know why but every time I see an alligator I think of an albino one too. Pretty cool lookin
