Why bread milk and eggs? Wouldn't canned goods and other nonperishables be smarter if you are indeed going to be holed up at home for a while? Does everyone make french toast when it snows down there?

When there is snow in the forecast for Richmond, we go to the grocery store and then drive into a ditch.  ;D   ;D   ;D

Wife has confirmed case of flu. Very cool considering she got the flu shot!!  I had to go to the neighborhood Giant not once but twice yesterday. Still trying to get over the shock of it all. Every checkout 5 deep fully packed cart and 20 deep in the pharmacy line. It was great!!

I had no problem finding eggs and milk but dam if all the hotdog buns were sold out. I mean seriously, what the heck! Snow is coming so lets buy out all the hot dog buns ? I bought the hot dogs anyways , I'll just have to eat them with regular bread. Such is life

Of course we buy up all of the toilet paper. It comes in handy after gorging ourselves on French Toast all weekend. All of the good leaves are under the snow..... 8-)

I got ya beat on this one. Needed a single lowly green pepper last night. Went to the store and they were completely sold out?   :-?  Can't ever remember that being an essential for a blizzard! LOL

I took my son to Wal Mart last night before all this started so he could get a webcam for his laptop. While there, I figured I'd get some cereal, milk, bread and some drinks. Cereal was there, 4 gallons of milk left, plenty of drinks but the bread shelves were cleaned out except for one lonely bag of hot dog buns. Only problem is, they looked like they had been dragged under the bread truck and then stomped on by a buffalo. I passed on them as well.

Supposed to keep on snowing until tomorrow afternoon sometime.

This what bread machines are made for.  Make some dough and bake a couple of loaves if you are worried about a storm.

If your shoveling, I'm guessing 4 or 6 inches at a time is easier than 24 after it's done.
