Personally, I let the truck warm up, grab a cup of coffee and let the truck do my shoveling.

I'm just going to pour gasoline on my driveway and sidewalks then light it on fire until all the snow melts.

It is good to see you guys still posting. I was afraid you would all be gone by now... ;)

Seriously, be careful out there. Good luck to you all.

Im set for the weekend. Got plenty of food in the house and a case of beer in the fridge. We are only guna get up to 18" though

It's awsome. I've shoveled twice now as well, not gonna do it again till the am. I just have to keep it off my wifes jeep top!! Now all it's doing is snowing at about 2" per hour and blowing. My last outing to clear snow was a bout with futility. Shovel a bit, look behind you and wonder what you just shoveled!!!!

Bourbon, tequila, beer...... Not necessarily in that order

Also bought a huge supply of liquor. I will probably be non functioning most of the weekend.

Oh good now I know where the party is at. Good thing I have 4wd. I'll bring some other essentials

It's from an old commercial that says "Have you ever wondered how the guy who drives the snowplow GETS to the snowplow?" So, how does he get there? If you get this one right, I promise that I will come to your place and shovel all of the snow off your driveway next August.

i had to lmao when i saw this mess...

We have 2 feet and my road hasn't been touched yet...the best part is about an hour ago someone came down the road...about 2mph though

At this point have 28 inches with a few hours of snow left and no power....

We've got 26" in my front lawn and it's supposed to keep going for another 5 hours or so.

Such a pain in the tucas snow as well. Very heavy, sticks to the shovel. I think I'm done for the day shovel wise. Flexerall, bourbon, advil, sleep, repeat....Do we have to look forward to this again on Tuesday / Wednesday ?  I guarantee I've got a cubic ton of snow to remove from behind my two vehicles. A great deal of my Sunday is gonna suck!!

I've already shoveled my driveway three times, and the fourth is to come very soon.

Why shovel before the snow ends?

If your shoveling, I'm guessing 4 or 6 inches at a time is easier than 24 after it's done.

Nah, just a waste of time.

I see you stocked-up on crack this winter.

I dont think we will hear from Burley again til monday. If he chose to shovel all at once, he should think again. It started snowing here in stafford at 10 am Friday. Its nearly 3 pm saturday and it hasnt stopped. But, I've built one hell of an igloo for my girls.

None of you guys have snowblowers?!? I just got our 1/4 mile long driveway done in lil over an hour.

Why would someone in VA buy a snowblower?  LOL.

I have a snow blower, and I'll use it for the heavy stuff, and hand shovel for any light stuff.

Keep your eye out for this dude, He'll help you guys dig out after it's all over . . . or you could just wait for it to melt.

my neighbor was out using a snow blower while I was shoveling my sidewalk and a path along the driveway. I'm pretty sure we finished at the same time and he only covered a little more ground than I did.

No, that comes after my first trip to the city every year.   ;)

When we got 15" or so before Christmas, I tried keeping my sidewalk and driveway shoveled.  Gave up after the first 5".

I'd rather shovel 15-20" of snow once rather than shovel 5" of snow 3-4 times.

I agree with Burley. I'd rather do it all at once, lay out my snow gear to dry, and be done with it.  I hate putting all my snow gear on and taking it off.

  • Super User

My "snow gear" is whatever I have on, a pair of hip waders, winter coat and gloves.  I guess we're just more acclimated to the cold up here.  We get a day in the mid 30s, and you'll see people in shorts, LOL.

mine isn't much more than that. Thick socks, boots, snow pants, winter jacket, hat. I just hate having a pile of wet clothing after I'm done shoveling.
