Short hunting season and not many have been found.  A longer hunting season and a bounty paid for each snake turned in may produce better results.  With estimates between 5000 and 140,000 indicates much more information needs to be gathered.

Do they taste like chicken????

Yup, they clearly have no clue how big the extent of the problem is, that is a big range for a somewhat small area that they should know a good amount about.

Kinda does sound like fun.....

A month doesn't sound like a whole lot of time.If it's truly a problem you'd think there would be no time restrictions. Unless they aren't looking to kill off the problem for the most part.

That makes no sense. The hunting of invasive Boas and pythons should be free and year round.

I knew this would happen one of these days!

well said snook. a 30 day period is a joke. pay for each snakes head and they will see reults.

Agree with all yall's points. Its a load of b/s.

I agree.  Why should I have to pay to help get rid of a problem?  It could be fun though. Do you want to go?

In no way am I going python hunting !

Bounties are nothing new, wolves foxes coyotes and even rats.  Putting a price tag on the head of python may bring out professionals hunters.  Even if that weren't the case in a sluggish economy it may be of benefit to the hunter( financially) as well as ridding some of these dangerous animals that could wind up in your backyard preying on kids and pets.

SURE, Ill shoot, you can haul them to the truck.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Open it up year round, or at least, 9 of the warmest months.

May be time to find a snake killer like a hyena or something that can hunt and kill those snakes... but alas there is none... so it takes man to hunt down the 125,000+ invasive snakes.

Really?  A hyena?   :-?

I have some grass that will need mowed in a few weeks.  Maybe I could go buy an alpaca, but alas it takes a man to mow my grass... ::)

Just get a .22 and go have some fun.

Exactly what I was thinking. Around here there are a few species that we can shoot on sight. Pigs are one of them. Yotes have a very short closed season also.
