Favorite Flip-Flops

Featured Replies

Hey guys i am looking at getting a new pair of fishing flip-flops.  I am not a big shoe or sandal person when fishing during the summer.  Mine are getting old and starting to hurt my back after a long day of fishing.  Looks are not that too important just comfort.  thanks guys.

I bet you Fluke says the same thing.  I think they would hold hands if they fished together.   ;D

haha i wouldnt know what to do with those.

I have become a fan of Asics tennis shoes and found a pair of Asics sandals that I am now wearing as well.  They are not soft like some of the UA or Adidas or Nike sandals offers, but keep my legs feeling better than most shoes do.

chaco. i am also extremely flatfooted and these have a nice shape to them, plus they last forever

i always just buy a cheap *** pair with a brown leather upper and pseudo-suede sole (this is the only look i like as far as flip flops go for me) from walmart, kmart, payless and the likes. usually around 10-15 dollars. they generally last the whole summer but i have to buy new ones toward the beginning of the following summer. i'm sure they'd last longer if i didn't wade in them, i don't think you're supposed to get them wet. they start smelling really bad after you do haha.

Oh yeah, get the memory foam ones.

Reef. Mine are over 10 yrs old.. ;)

i loved my adidas sandals with the memory foam. one thing with that is , when you get them wet , dry them completely. they will start to grow nasty stuff in the foam and get very smelly.

Those keens are nice, are they secure around your ankles? I wear Columbia riptides, very comfortable and secure and fit real nice, downside  is I wear them in the water when wading and they soften up too much, need to be replaced.

A guy came into work wearing those the other day. Another person asked him about them and he went on some tirade about how regular shoes "destroy your feet" and how cave men didn't wear soles on their feet, etc, etc...He has come in a few times seems to be a pretty big granola eating nature nut. I don't know how his feet survived all these years until the individually-toed shoes were invented.

Actually, granola boy is on to something. Here's an article that explains it somewhat:

I saw a show about this. Very interesting.

Apologies for veering off of the path of this thread, which is about flip flops. I have a pair of Under Armours. Very comfortable ;)

I guess it kinda makes sense for running but come on...how long have people been wearing shoes without problems?

Exactly. I'm intrigued by them anyhow. I'm 45, married with kids. Comfort is king now, I'm way past caring what things look like ;D

One thing from the show I saw was the fact that runners from African nations dominate in many track and field events, despite the poverty levels and lack of "sophisticated" gear. In a nutshell, they ran barefoot their entire lives without anywhere near the level of injuries of runners from more industrialized nations. Sometimes less is more.

reminds me of Cody Lundin's philosophy from Dual Survival. that guy hasn't worn shoes over in 20 years.
