totally random electric razor question

Featured Replies

Here is a thread for all the guys that use an electric razor for thier face.......

Back in the late 90's I remember buying an electric razor for my face rather than shaving with a disposable razor. The razor was like $100......right out of the package I remembered it giving me razor burn on my neck. Directions said to use it a few times so your neck/face would get used to it and the burn would go away. UH...not the case. So I quit using it and shaved manually ever since.

Well im getting to the point where im tired of buying the disposable razors and am highly considering buying a new electric razor.

I am attaching a photo similar to what I had back in the day. Although it is NOT the same model/color. You get the idea of what I had.

Has anyone ever used this type of razor and had the same results? If so, what razor did you switch to and found it was eaier on the skin?

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Have you tried a non-disposable razor? I use a Gillette Fusion and it works for me.

now, what i mean by disposable is the ones where you have to replace the blades.  these are entirely too expensive int he long run.  (im thinking the electric would be better)

Peach fuzz is pretty tough huh?

Ah I'm just messing ;)

I hate those kinds of electric razors. Get one with the straight cutters. They don't irritate my face and I have super sensitive skin. Get a decent after shave lotion too (lotion, not that burning alcohol crap!).

Just to annoy you Dave...

I use a Fusion, works great on my peach fuzz ;D.  I hate electrics.

I started with the blade/shave cream/bleeding cuts deal. Switched to a parallel cutter type electric, and now am using one like you pictured. I prefer the rotary.

I lost my "peach fuzz" about 50 years ago.

I switched to an old school safety razor that uses replacement razor blades.  The blades are cheaper, last longer, shave better, and on and on.

I've been using electric razors all my life - all shapes and sizes.  Here's the one I use now:

Best shaver I ever bought, hands down!

I haven't found a typical store bought razor that doesn't give me razor burns.  Most of the time I'll just use my clippers.  The only thing that works good on me when I need a good close shave is an old school straight razor and a traditional wet shave.

Just tuck your beaver back up under your skirt and be a man.
