hard plano tackle boxes is my personal opinion

id have to say the same.. i like the tackle bags with the plano boxes because its easy to organize, you can fit in more tackle, it will protect the lures from rain or other elements outside, and i can find what i want because you can label the boxes

Any smaller compartments are a plus.

Tackle bags are much more versatile.

It gives you the ability to alter the contents of your box to suit lake/pond conditions by simply swapping utility boxes.

I vote for the soft.  I really like my falcon.

I love my soft bag, I can stuff about 6 medium boxes in it, a net, a buncha bait and it's got a bunch of plastic bait storage sacks built in.

It's a PLANO.

I prefer a butt-load of the regular plano boxes then I have a few for spinnerbaits/buzz baits and tryin to find a few deep ones for plastics bags

Gotta go soft because as every young angler knows when you forget to close the the latch on the hard box and go to pick it up it spreads tackle across 4 counties.

My fiance got me a soft bag for my birthday and I love it. Its easy to carry around and your tackle stays organized. Granted its a little small and its already bursting at the seems but I love it.

Plus you can always smash more stuff into it.

That sounds like a personal problem!

I have 2 soft tackle boxes.  One that is larger with 4 hard boxes inside.  The other is a small hip belt version, perfect for walking around a lake and not having to pick up the box everytime you move

I love my Okochobee fats with falcon boxes.

I also have a small Plano hard box that is nice but does not hold enough tackle for me.  I usually take it with me when bank fishing and leave the big box in the truck.

8-) I have two soft tackle bags and I use the Plano CDS 3701 boxes. You can fit more boxes into a bag using the 3701's versus the 3700's. I do have one 3700 that I use for the larger topwater lures that won't fit into a 3701. I have a Cabela's Magnum Tackle bag and have used it for 5 years now. They even have one that is made from water repelent material. I use the Falcon spinner bait box for the spinners and have found that to be the best for spinnerbait storage for me so far.

Also have the Falcon Buzzbait wallet and it is pretty decent. THought about buying their jig box or wallet but after calling them I found out that football head jigs won't fit into the slots, or so they said. If any of you find that to be untrue then please let me know.

All in all the soft bags are by far the most versital.

One other note, for stick baits I use the Shimano stick bait boxes that they don't make anymore. You can fit 18 stickbaits into one of these boxes and it is the same size of a 3701. They are getting really tough to find and I would recommend anyone wanting one to search it out on Ebay. Be prepared though as they go for some $'s sometimes on there.

I have both.  I have 2 Plano 2 hip hard boxes and a Gander Mtn. soft. I have the clear flat boxes organized with jerkbaits, spinners, etc. The hard cases carry misc. items, hooks, floats, tools, jigs, etc. plus a few cranks and spinners.  I can take the hard box plus any or all of the flat boxes in the soft bag, depending on my needs.  Sometimes all I need is just a box of crankbaits.  Other times there is enough in the hard box.  

i bought the plano soft bag with the hard bottom. i holds 4 medium containers and has pockets setup for everything from glasses to a holster for pliers. i love my bag

Soft standard issue military ruck sack, with a couple boxes about 6x12 for the hardbaits. The hardbaits that do not fit in there get left in there box with a rubberband around it.

Soft is the way to go, I love my Okeechohee Fats bag.

Hard...i had a soft once, and i dont know if it was bad quality, but alot of stuff broke

Another vote for the soft bags here. I bought a Okeechobee Fats bag this spring and really like it. I did switch out one of the boxes for a Falcon spinnerbait/buzzbait box.
