What is your favorite hollow body frog?

Featured Replies

I can't seem to find a hollow body frog that I really like. I have tried a few and so far my favorite is the Spro Bronzeye. The big problem that I have with it is that it takes on water like crazy, especially the junior size. I'm looking for an alternative to the Bronzeye (unless it is the best out there). What do you feel works best?

I've only used two - the Spro (my vote) and the scum frogs.  I never have any luck with them so they don't see much water, but the Spro seems like a nicer lure.

I've used the Spro and the Scumfrog. I've had more success with the Scumfrog even though it seems to take on more water than the ridiculously expensive Spro. Both work though. To each his own.  ;)

Put a little super glue around where the rubber first meets the line tie. That will absolutely solve your problem  ;) Don't mess with the hole underneath where the hooks come out.

scum frog bigfoot

I'm a huge SPRO fan, but the River 2 Sea frogs are getting more use this season.  Good hookups and very little problems.

Still, it's no big deal to me to squeeze some water out of the frog now and then and it has yet to be a fishability problem with any frog.

same here......   and i lost a spro to the evil pad bed from hell yesterday and i literally wanted to cry.... friggin expensive.... whatever Ill wait till we get a bad storm, then go pirate the lake for bobbers, floating worms, and hopefully my frog will wash up on the flats at the far end of the lake. thats the awesome thing about my lake, it all comes full circle.... what you lose, you can get back when the pads get blown around....

and i agree,    short of plugging it,  has anyone found a good way to keep the water outta the scumfrog?

I picked other.

I like the Spro Bronza eye Jr.    The Bass just seem to get it better. My hook up ratio is out of this worl with the jr as apposed to the other frogs i have thrown.

If you can find them, I think the Mann's Swimmin' Frog is the best there ever was. Rarely miss a hit and in pockets or open water once you clear the slop, it acts like a buzzbait. Have had some of my biggest bass hit it after it clears the slop on the way back to the boat.
