Average total wieght for Tournament 's ?

Featured Replies

I was just wondering were I stood campared to other tourny guys . In general for the last 5 years and fishing about 6 club T's a year, not counting the opens I fish. I end up with an approximate average of 7.5 pounds per tourny. I know bieng up north I won't be anywhere close to the guys fishing out west or down south but still interested in their stats. OK, where do I stand? Average? Good? Should I not quit my day job ;D

Thanks for your input and honesty ;)

It depends on what part of the country you live in, down here is Texas/Louisiana the average winning weight for a 5 bass limit would be 20-25 lbs with plenty 25-30 lbs limits not uncommon and even some in the 30-35 lbs range.

I hate to say it but an average in RI means nothing. Don't know if you remember but last year a few times one weekend it would take 30 pounds to win on a lake and the next weekend it would take 10. Some other lakes all you need to win is a limit. Where as on Stafford or Watchaug some days a limit of 2.5-3 pounders won't get you the win. Too many variables.

But last year my average fish in a tourney was 2.27 :) I had a lot of 4+ fish last year. My average in fun fishing was just under 2.5. This year I need to change those around. Hopefully the swimbaits will help that out.

Seems that some don't understand the question.

This might make you feel better. My average for the last 3 years in the BFL is 6 lbs. 10 oz. per tournament fished.

Last year my average for the BFL events were 10 lbs. 4 oz.

These averages come off a good lake. I guess I better keep my day job too, huh? :-?

Though these are my BFL fish/tourny averages. I've won around 30G's cash and prizes the last 3 years counting all tournaments fished.

Thank you sir! There where a few T's that I had over 10 to 15+ lbs and just missed the win on four of them by 2 to 4oz :-[ Allways the brides maid last year yet still won six times the cost of entry fee's & dues.

Hoping for beter results this year due to the better body's of water chosen. :)

WOW!

Man, that had to be a great time for you and your partner.

Congratulations!

RW, I wish my brownfish would have measured up to my partners.  :P

Really though, I'm just wanting to show that it can happen to anybody if they will just apply themselves as best they can.

I've only been fishing tournaments for 3 years! I owe alot to Bass Resource for my success. Guys like Kent(RW), Rolo, Bud, Chris(former mod), the list goes on. Funny thing is, they don't even know how much they've taught me, but I do!

Just a little.  BASS decided not to come back to Clearlake cause we were making the rest of the country look bad.

Most are 5 fish and we have a few that are 7.  Most of the local tourney I fish are team 5 fish and you need at least 20+ to get in the money.
