Guest avid Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 It was cooler this afternoon. The sky was patchy with clouds and surprising little wind. I launced "Avids Osprey" and decided to risk going under the two weed choked bridges that make the north lake so tough to access from the ramp. I had to clear the minn kota twice but it was worth it. I had the best outing in a long time. Best part was that I caught all of my best fish on "legacy lures" these are high end hardbaits that I have my adult children buy me as presants with the intent that they will get "passed down". The first bits of action were two keepers on a chatterbait. Then a big bite on a legacy lure pointer 100. He came unbuttoned but was a 4-5 lber. Then it started getting dark and the action got hot. I put on my legacy lure live sammy 120. this is an all or nothing lure. It doesn't draw alot of strikes but when it does they are good ones. I landed a 5 lber and a 4 lber. within a few minutes of each other. Once it got dark things slowed down but I managed one more 2 lber on jig hopped along the bottom. I'm really glad to have this good showing. Thursday Is when I undergo my shoulder and elbow procedures, followed by physical therapy of unkown duration. I wont be posting any fishing stories but you can bet you'll hear from me. Talk to y'all soon. avid Quote

nboucher Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Good luck, Avid. As Russ said, the surgery's the easy part. The rehab makes all the difference later. Make sure you're religious about attending the sessions and work hard at it. You won't regret it. I've had a couple of knee surgeries, and thanks to rigorous rehab, I ran a marathon on them last year! All best, Norman Quote
