HEY FELLAS:IT IS ABOUT TIME FIRST FOUR FREAKIN JIGGED BASS!

We are in a drought and everything is way low. I went to a strippin pit, and from the bank(about 8 ft above the shore) I could see a large sunken island, I never have seen before.It had several blown down and sunken tres. I figured what the hey I tied on one of the jigs Gman poured for me, added a crawfish trailer and started working the area. FIRST CAST: Bang got hit on the way downwhcih taught me lesson number one, bacause 3 of the 4 fish were on the first cast/on the way down. I USUALLY WAS NOT PAYING ATTENTION TIL I MADE CONTACT WITH THE BOTTOM and then I would start dragging/hopping it. The fourth fish came as I was coming down the island to the base of one of the stumps!

All were between barely a pound to a pound and a half BUT GOTTA START SOMEWHERE. I am grateful i caught em, but I still have a long way to go with jigs, and i really do not know if I am up to it.

Sounds like THE JIG IS UP!  

+1 Muddy, way to go.  That's what I found on my first jig bass.  Hit that sucka on the way down.  Surprised me too but after all I read here, I was kind of ready for it.

Maybe the problem before wasn't the jig or the fisherman. Maybe you just needed to find the right lake.
