How big was she?

It was a small fish from a small man-made lake.It was around 15cm and weighed nothing on the scale. But was my first

I also wonder why he bit it, the popper was larger than his mouth

Did you kiss it before you released it like Jimmy Houston?????

Great Christmas present to yourself.

Yes, I did kiss it, but didn't release it, I wanted to take a photo and the camera was not with me.

On that day, well yes.It was 32 degrees Celsius. After that day its just rain rain rain.My popper is the only thing that seem to work there but its stuck on some weed cause of a inaccurate cast. The rest of my tackle is at my father's work.

Matt- I want to take just a second to fill you in on a couple things that you need to know now that you have found out how to be successful with that rod and reel you have.

Here, in the states, Bass have to be of a certain size to be legal to remove from the lake/pond.  We all understand that you wanted a pic of your first Bass and you'll be glad you have it 20 yrs from now, trust me, but before you go and turn into a pro, you need to learn your local laws regarding the harvest of Bass and the size limits.  The usual minimum size ranges from 12-16".

Also, read up a little about "catch and release".  Educating yourself on these topics will help you understand the water you fish and will help you from doing anything detrimental without knowing.

You did a great job buddy, keep it up!!

Where can I get more info on catch and release. What I do know is you have to wet your hands before handling the fish.By the way I love animals. So ill always release the rest.

Mattys,

Congratulations on your first bass of many, many more to come!

This is a great sport. Keep reading these boards and you can accumulate a lot of good information about bass fishing.

One thing though...Make sure you read the rules and regulations of the lakes or reservoirs you are fishing. They may or may not have rules to go by. You may also want to make sure you do not have to have a fishing permit.

Keep bringing them in guy!
