A typical saturday

Featured Replies

The guys that I go on fishing trips with are all big fish obsessed. When they come back to camp and I ask them how they did they either just sigh and say, " not great, nothing of any real size". But they may have caught 30 or 40 between them. But when they catche only a few fish including a real hog they say, "we did great." And proceed to tell me the story of the whole day.

I am not like that, if I can catch a mess of bass and really have them figured out then im happier than just catching one big hog all day that may have been luck. Of course I also enjoy learning a new technique.

What do you find most enjoyable?

everything except for the carp one :-/

Find a $100 to pay the entry fee, win it back and then some. 8-)

I fish for quality fish.

I wouldn't knock anybody for fishing up to their own expectations.

To many people try to fish against each other.Even in a tournament,it is me against the fish.

catch the 50 or so in the a.m. then hog hunt the rest of the day

I said find a Benjamin at the boat ramp...cause you know its going to be a good day!

Hey i just noticed that was your first post

I hope to at least catch one of the species I am after for the day. I don't mind getting skunked every once in awhile, but I don't like it all that much either. Learning a new technique or how to fish a new lure productively got my vote. Chance are if I do either of those correctly, I'll catch a few and have a smile on my face when I quit for the day. IMO:o)

Welcome dude,

i said none because I would like to catch a new pb......that's all.

I said catch 50 averaged sized bass but i would also love to learn a new technique. Finding a C note wouldnt hurt either  8-).

I read somewhere that there is a "progression" in every fisherman's career:

- just cach something

-cach lots of fish

-cach the biggest fish

-Just enjoy a day on the water

I voted "none", but  finding a "c"note wouldn't hurt.

I wouldn't mind any of them on any day. I like learning a new technique, but I like being successful with it even more.

I said $100, but if one option was to catch a PB (not close to PB) that would have been my choice.  Also, $100 and not catching any fish afterwards would be kinda tough.

Anyway, I would take the c-note to Cabelas, buy a couple Lucky Crafts..

then go snag carp all afternoon  ;D

Same with me, I rather beat my pb. But I couldn't resist voting for catching 50 average size bass cause that just sounds too good.

That would have to be catching 30 bass while flippin' and the missing 20 on Buzzbait !  8-)

My idead of a perfect day on the water.

I guess what you guys consider average is "Ok-to-nice" for us in Europe. So I'll sure go with the 50 average-sized bass a day.

I choose #2.

The day I caught my personal best smallie of almost 5 lbs was awesome! Caught one 8" smallie dink before that but I was smiling for a couple days straight. No camera, no pic, but that memory is still there for me to think about and smile.

I know I have places I can go and catch average size fish all day, and while at times that is fun, nothing beats that feeling of landing a real pig.  If I can catch a big fish on my first cast, and not catch another fish the rest of the day I will still go home with a giant smile on my face.   ;D

It only takes one big one for me to call it a day.

There are very few occasions when I think catching #'s is fun ....

1. That day in the spring, right when the lake really starts to wake up from the winter. My usual bait of choice is a lipless crankbait. The number of fish you catch is only limited by the number of casts you can make. I seem to catch smaller fish on average, but there are usually a couple quality fish in there. That's what keeps me going and is about the only time I will stick with a technique that is catching #s. Because normally if you are into #s, you need to switch something up to get the big girls. Kind of gets you pumped for the rest of the season.

2. Topwater bite. Never get sick of seeing that no matter what the size.

3. Taking a newbie or kid fishing

Catch lots of fish.

I would rather catch one hawg. If I found $100, I would just feed the baitmonkey.

i chose catch one fish but have it beat your PB.

in reality i would love all of those, but my fav. would be the PB.
