How much do you think this one weighed?

Featured Replies

Caught this one on a lake near my house a couple of weeks ago.  Didn't have any scales with me to weigh it so I just had to guess.   What do ya'll say it weighs?    Sorry the picture quality is so bad, the picture was taken with somebody elses camera so I had to take a picture of a picture.

Nice fish! Hard to guess from a picture, but it looks like it would go little over 7lbs.  What did you catch her on, and where? Awesome fish

Between 7 and 8 based on the size of the mouth and that you are actually a ways away from the camera.

Comparing the size of your fist to the bass's mouth, I'd guess about 7.5 lbs.

Fine bass no matter what she weighs.

Yeah i agree that it's somewhere around the 7 lb range.

Nice fish.

And i absolutely love those terminator chartruse/white skirts. Hands down my favorite skirt for spinnerbaits.

Nice fish, around 7 pounds.

Hey Hillbilly, that's a really nice fish ! I think it could be bigger than these guys are giving it. You could have held it straight towards the camera, and a little further from your body..... but anyway, I'd give it 8 to high 9's.

BTW, I fished Caney Lk. one time, while I was living in Louisiana. Didn't catch squat. I did see some giant Grass Carp though..... I mean like 50 lb'ers ! Too bad I couldn't have hooked one of those :-)

They used to have this big aquarium in one of the marinas, with a couple 16 to 17 lb bass in it ! That was really impressive. Caney Lk. does have the state record still, doesn't it ???

Stick a pig !  :-)

The length says 7 or 8 pounds but the girth says more like 6 or 6.5 pounds.

Nice fish no matter what she weighs ;)

I also say it weighs about 7lbs. That fish is real nice, almost looks like a mount.

I'd say right around 8.

I'd say right around 8.

Yep, Brown's Landing has 2 huge bass in aquariums.   One is the state record.  I think it was around 15 1/2 pounds when caught back in '94, so there's no telling how much it weighs now.

I'd say 6 - 7 1/2lbs
