Hey guys, I just cut and pasted an image from maps.live.com of my favorite freshwater fishery and addes some labels. It's a little New England pond with an abundance of perfect structure, and it's an amazing smallmouth fishery. I've had 70+ fish days on this pond in my float tube, all while seeing maybe a couple other people all day.

I haven't caught any monsters, but there are tons of smallmouth in the 1-2 pound range that are willing to take any offering, and I've caught largemouth up to 3.5 lbs. My PB crappie (just under 2 lbs) came from this pond as well.

There's nothing better than fishing this lake in my float tube or pontoon, gaining confidence in lures or techniques I've never used. It has a lot of shorefishing access too when I don't feel like lugging my tube/toon up the mountain to get there.

I know of the stump fields and a lot of the underwater structure because the first time I fished it, the water was down 15 ft 8-)

Water visibility is 15+ feet for most of the year. The only time it's less clear is during the fall turnover.

WOW! Looks like a great place to master a variety of techniques! Jealous I be!

I was able to do almost the same with the lake that my camper is at.  Have a 50 acre and a 10 acre lake.  No I just need to get out on it more to make the red notes!

What do you think?  

I think I need to get a float tube.

What types of unique presentations can you guys suggest to fish this place? I'm going up in mid-September and am looking for ideas. By far the most productive bait on this lake is a quick retrieve with a white X-Rap.

Bigger fish tactics?

Swimbaits of the large size and 6-7 inch senkos. Maybe even the 10 inch power worm behind a floating jig. Looks like a snake and a big bass will try to kill it with a vengeance.

You have a wonderful place to relax and have a good time.

This is what fishing is all about.

A few tournaments now and then are OK, but a peaceful setting with Mother Nature can't be beat.

Sweet treasure map

Here's one of my favorite Smallie lakes in Maine. A point fisherman's dream,flooded timber everywhere and not a largemouth to be found..as well as other fisherman.

That looks like a great spot. I really like the variety of structure.

WTRDOG - I've never seen that many points in my life. Looks pretty awesome  

In my pond the rocky areas are 99% smallmouth, and the weedy areas are about 75% largemouth. The stumpfields are about 50/50. The main forage is baitfish, little lizards (newts or salamanders or something), and bugs . I'm sure there are crawfish too, but I've never seen any. There are millions of those little lizards.

The lake shown is absolutely beautiful,You couldn't fish all the points in 2 days.I have been fishing this lake for 8 years and there are certain points near spawing flats ,that you can catch them just about every cast on a jerkbait and a spinnerbait.Only problem with the lake is that it is so dangerous to navigate, there are stumps,tree's,and rocks everywhere.Very few places you can open up,if only my skeg could talk.The best part is the only other fisherman I have seen on this lake was looking for the infamous white perch.

Having seen no one fish for bass in that lake is just another humongous plus  to an already great looking fishery

But just because you havent seen anyone fishing it doesn't mean it doesnt get fished but even then it cant get fished that much so your good either way

TT, I like that map.  That water is like the garden of Eden.  That has got to be some sweet fishing.  It holds everything you need for any approach you want to use anytime.  Can't beat that.

Incredible lake -I'm envious. My waters are of the dishpan variety, with little morphmetric structure. This time of year I'm reading changes in vegetation as structure. Must be fun to fish.

BTW: If those "little lizards" are green with small red dots along the back, then they are newts which carry a toxin and are, supposedly, inedible to fish. I thought that when you said that there are lots of them.

Hey all, so I'm headed up to NH tomorrow and will be fishing this pond on Saturday in my pontoon boat. I usually spend most of the time throwing topwaters, jerkbaits, and weightless plastics, but I'm thinking about trying out some new things on Saturday.

What kind of crazy ideas can you all come up with?  8-)
