Drove through a diving hurricane Friday night to get to the cottage.

Well worth it. Third cast Sat morn. Bam. 5.3 Caught several more 2-3+ lbs. Then Sun. morn. Third pic. 5.9 First time using the Space Monkey.

That bait is killer. Fourth pic- 2 more good size Space Monkey fish.

Last Pic- The Red Badge Of Courage.  Probably caught 100 fish Sat and Sun.

It really is. On a calm day you can see 8-10 feet deep. I like to snorkel around and actually see some huge fish cruising the weededges or hanging out under boats and docks.

This is one time in your life that you won't get scolded for Monkying around too much ;D

Your smile and raw thumb says it all and glad you had a great time,

Big O

It's a good thing the pictures aren't Scratch and Sniff. It was 85 and super humid. Went though 4 shirts in 2 days. My deodorant wasn't holding up.

Just found this in the camera. Not a bass but pretty decent 'gill on 4" senko.

Wow Ken you have these lakes pegged. Does the Chain of Lakes have any tornaments on them? If so you should start tornament fishing. If need be it would be my pleasure to fish the back of the boat to clean up on whatever may be left.

Nice catching Ken.  You can't call that fishing it was catching.

Great pics Ken.  Where abouts were you?

Lets here about your set-ups.  What rods, reels, line were used?

Hey Kelley-

Do you ever get way up north to the Wisconsin border?

Maybe you could pick Uncle Leo up on the way and Brian can shoot down and we can make a day or even a weekend out of it.

Guys?

Would be about a 8 or 9 hr  drive but would come for a weekend or midweek.  Would  be great  to get together again.  Thanks for the invite.

G.P.-

It's a small set of 2 lakes connected by a channel, which as the summer goes, on becomes unnavigable due to water levels.

Relatively shallow, weedy natural lakes with lots of docks and boat or pontoon boat tied to each. I was fishing in and around the channel as the water was about a foot high and clear on my end of the lake. There was good current going through the channel and the bass were laying in wait for anything to mistakenly swim or get pushed through.

I would cast a Senko up current and it very rarely made it back to the boat. When the bite slowed, I threw a Space Monkey and got the biggest one. My guess is the fish thought it was a small frog as there are tons of them in this area when the water is lower. I would get around 10 fish before moving out of there for a while and when I would return, same thing over again. Hit this spot probably 10 times each day.

Senkos on spinning gear. 6'6" MH BPS Bionic Blade with Shimano Spirex 4000. 12lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid. Space Monkey and Shadalicious on B.C. gear, 6'6" St.Croix Premier MH fast action that Uncle Leo was good enough to sell me, Accurist 570PT, 12lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid. Couple smaller ones on Snagproof Bobby's Perfect Frog. 7'6" BPS Extreme Flipping Stick, MH Fast action, Abu 4600C4, 50lb. Power Pro Braid.
