Florida Cold-front

Those pictures are awesome and really capture the essence of Lake Kissimmee and one of my favorite places on earth, Grape Hammock. My one club had a tournament out of there that weekend and man did it blow. Same thing happend last year-the first front of the year came through the Saturday night or our tournament. When you are sleeping in one of the trailers there and the nuts or whatever are falling on the roof and you can hear the wind whistling through the live oak-you know its going to be a-blowin that day. I was up there this past weekend with my other club-no fronts-just 15-25 blowing all weekend. Fishing was good though. I've had a couple of conversatrions with that steer!

I'm with you, the Big-K is a subtropical wonderland.

I'll bet we both spoke with that same longhorn (Brahma Island)

It blew just as hard this past Sunday, but the fishing was much slower.

Starting to look like the fall topwater bite may be over.

So be it, now we can look forward to the pre-spawn period. :o

I've been using a 3/4 oz j-spoon for surf fishing lately, one of the better spoons made for any water.

Ah, the venerable Johnson Silver Minnow. Here I was thinking there was some new magic bait that I had not yet discovered.

I think all of my spoons have migrated over to the saltwater tackle bag. Thanks for the reminder of the kind of fish those things can attract.

I actually fished my club tournament on the 17th and I sure could have used that kicker your lady caught. I stayed in the river right by Camp Mack and only ended up with 10 lbs. total.

Anyway, thanks for the info.

I have a couple Johnson Spoons I use on occasion. I caught some fish on it that day, but none were 14". We ended up with 0lbs to weigh in.

great pix!  sounds like a real nice outing.  congrats.
