My biggest hawg yet

Featured Replies

My family and I went camping at a small electric only lake(68 acres) this weekend, and I never expected to catch my PB LMB.

I fished that whole lake several times for 2 days, only catching dinks, but they put up a better fight in that lake, rather than the locals, so I was having a blast. I saw a canoe disappear into the feeder stream, and figured "no guts no glory", and ventured into the shallow(4-8") of water, until it opened up to a 12' wide chanel about 8-10' deep.

I wasn't having any luck, and figured I'd turn around, but I seen a downed tree up ahead, and had to hit it. I pitched a worm there, and let it settle for a second, then started slowly retrieving it, and thought I had a snag at first, but it started peeling line off fast. I fought the good fight for what seemed an eternity(5 minutes), and finally got the beast into the boat. He was 21 1/2", and weighed 4.3 lbs. My wife had to fumble with the new camera for a few seconds before we were able to get 2 nice shots and release him back to his home.

As soon as my wife figures out the whole digital camera thing, I'll post up some pics.

Excellent and congratulations on the New PB...

speedbead, I caught him at Chapman dam, about 15 miles south of Warren. It's a tiny lake, but it holds some very nice bass, and the campground is excellent.
