wow i feel like a newb. the biggest bass i cought was about 3 pounds. i havent been fishing long tho. i got into fishing heavy about 2 months ago

Ive cought plenty of one pounders but im waiting and ready for that big bass.

My biggest fish (6 lb) came from Lake Barkley using a 1/4 oz orange and black rattletrap. In fact, on the trip we took, we each averaged about 40 fish a day using the rattlers - most in the 1 to 2 lb range but my brother in law did have a 10lb on the line.

LD, You need to come down and fish the Tennessee River, but a 5 lb smallmouth is a prize anywhere.

Fattdaddy; I want to thank you for putting that hawg back. I think it's great that you put him back. Some little kid could be out with grandpa and tie into that fish and he'll be hooked for life. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an activist but I do think we have to do all we can to keep the bass alive and well.  Thumbs up to ya,

Snag

I caught my biggest bass of the summer. a 61/2 pound bass in the spring when they were spawning. I caught her on a black & blue 3/8 oz. Stanley Casting Jig.

Caught a 7.2lb large mouth in early September on a chartruese scum frog.  In June a caught a 6.4 lb. on a ratt-l-trap.  I caught most of my fish this summer on buzz baits, scum frogs and bass rats but I also did more top water fishing this summer.  I did catch a smally that was 21 inches long (didn't have a scale so no weight) on a beattle spin in Canada in early June.

The two biggest I caught last summer were on the same day ( a tad over 5 for both).  The first I caught on a 7.5 Junebug Worm (my bait of the summer) while I was working out a backlash LOL!!!!  The other I caught on a Junebug/Chart. Lizard.  Both were YUM products.  Anybody else out there like the YUM product line like I do?

My biggest largemouth have all been caught on Senkos, but I caught more 5+ lb fish on the Yamamoto Ika last year.  I have never caught a smallmouth over 5 lbs on anything but live shiners, but this spring I'm going to give earthworm77's  hair jigs a workout.

Hey, rumor has it that you had a pretty good day recently with a smallie or two ;D!

Thanks EW! The weather forecast has improved, sunny and a high around 45. Headed to the river again Saturday! Gotta stick with the minnows this time of year, but I'm looking forward to giving your jigs a workout next month.

i live up north and my biggest bass this year was close to 6 lbs. i used a shad rap crankbait and i also caught the same on a white buzz bait

I caught a 5 pound largemouth on a Berkly Gulp! worm fishing in a brushpile around 2:30 in the afternoon a of a beautuful clear day. :)

7lb'er on a yellow/black Devil's Horse..my buddy caught one just shy of 10 lbs on a Pop'R.

7lb, 7oz, on a StrikeKing Midnight Special spinnerbait.  I'm new to bass fishing, so this was actually my first spinnerbait to produce fish.  First afternoon of use, I caught 3 bass in 30minutes, averaging around 3lbs
