What does everyone wear on those cold or wet days?  I'm looking to pick up some good rain/coldwear, anyone have a favorite?  I like the looks of the Cabela's Gore-Tex Guidewear but want to make sure I make a good decision for that amount of money.

Hello - I bought an inexpensive 'rain suit' that is green from Cabela's. It's NOT breathable so make  sure that you BUY something with polyproplene as I perspire so much in the pants that my other pants are very damp when I'm through.  

Yes!  I have learned my lesson with cheap outerwear also.  I'm looking to finally spend a little money and get some quality stuff:)

I have a few of the Columbia Sportswear, Titanium Series parkas. They are pretty nice.

The pants that I have are also made by Columbia. They are called Munky Bar Pants (I am pretty sure that's how it was spelled anyway).

I am 100% satisfied with Cabelas Guidewear. I picked up the light bibs and coat (in the picture) on sale for around $200. This is an all day outfit rather than a pullover. Long-johns underneath and I'm good 40-65 degrees, blocks the wind and rain. For warmer and colder weather you need something to pull on and off, that can be worn OVER clothes. I have a light, inexpensive rain suit from BPS that cost about $50, and it works fine for a carry-along.

EXACTLY, I bought a set of Frogg Toggs this year and I love them. Completely water proof and VERY BREATHABLE! They're really lite and block wind as well. Buy'em big enough to wear warmer close underneath.

The kicker is they cost under a 100 bucks!

My partner has a pair of frog toggs, they work great except they do not keep the water out once its soaked or if you have to sit in your seat.

I own a pair of the flw raingear, and i am very satified with them in keeping me dry and warm

I went to a estate sale and bought a columbia outerwear suit, the whole set-up, for $35.

After 15 years, I think I finally wore out the last set of Gortex I had. I bought a set of Cabellas Gortex Guidewear and so far have been pleased with them. I was out in an all day rain last week and stayed warm and dry.

Bass Pro has a sale on their Gortex rainwear. Just have to ask them about it. Yes I own Frogg Toggs, and I tell ya what...Tritonman is right. Sit down on a wet seat and they would soak right through. Kneel down to tie on a lure on the wet floor...they would soak through. They don't keep the COLD out either, not insulated. They are great for keeping the rain and wind off ya though. But for the money...Don't waste your money on them.

Anyone know when I could expect Cabela's to put their Guidewear on sale?

I was searching the internet to see what the pro's wear and I came across a website that listed all the pro Bass anglers and then covered all of their equipment.  About 90% of the guys listed Cabela's Guidewear as their rain gear so I'm guessing that stuff is pretty good.    

frogg toggs are the perfect rainwear for the not so cold days. there inexpensive and very lightweight. i would say to look into them.

Frogg Toggs normally and Remington Thermore fill II  when it is really cold.

 Dont know if you know but frogg toggs are guaranteed forever.

Squid, sounds like you're against them.  I'm curious if the people who RECOMMEND Frogg Togg's have experienced anything undesirable in their time using the product and can relate at all the leaking some of you guys who are against it are saying.

I haven't experienced this YET with the Frogg Toggs but this is my first year to own them and everyone I've talked to around here that has them swears by them!

I saw that BPS has their own line of rainwear that about matches that of Cabela's guidewear but is priced a little better.  Much difference between the two?

Never said I was against them. They soak through when sitting or kneeling in/on a wet spot...ie seat, or the floor. I like my Frogg Toggs, just noticed that they soak through. Does that help...lol....geez, tuff crowd...lol..git no respect...no respect at all...lmao

Oh, weren't you looking for Gortex?  BPS has them on sale.

Lol, sorry squid.  I think I'm leaning towards goretex.  Something like the cabela's guide series or or BPS stuff just like it.  Something that has a little more insulation that frogg togg's.  I'll have to check out the BPS sale.  After looking through cabela's and BPS I'm so lost.  They have like 500 items listed as Guide wear and they all look the same to me.  I really should go to the store and check it out there, much easier than the internet.  Although it seems like you can always find that stuff on sale on their website.

I agree.Frogg-Toggs.They are also very affordable.

Just got my new Gortex Rainwear today from BPS.  Very nice....can't wait to try them out... :  I hate rain....lol
