FISHING GODS

Featured Replies

The gods,....oh, the gods.  Myu partner and I have been long time practitioners of'superstitious behavior.  We NEVER wear matching socks, and we NEVER talk on the ride to the lake about how we are gonna "smoke 'em"  cause the conditions are sooo on!

 Anyone else have any quirks?

Ya, when ever my buddy and I go cat fishing we always put in a dip.  We pefer the brand Kodiak.  For some reason whenever we have one in we catch alot.

Yeah, I tend to have to put a dip of kodiak in at every trip, but then I have a dip of kodiak 4 or 5 times a day anyway.

Snuff (timberwolf though) and being quiet, that's about it here.

I'll only wear white T-shirts while fishing. I once wore a bright red T-shirt to a tournament and didn't do well. Since that day (about 3 years ago), I only wear white shirts.

"Look at me! I'm a cloud!" :D

This is a wierd one:

I set my alarm clock according to the biggest fish I think I can catch the next morning of fishing.  For example, on my trip down to Lake Fork earlier this year I wanted to catch a 10 lber. ...... so I set the alarm for 5:10.  It worked.  I caught the 10.5 lber in the picture.  It's worked a couple of other times too.

No. But I partly blamed that bad day on the red shirt. After that, I intentionally wore white shirts and now it's become a habit.

I try to be a little realistic.  I don't think there is a world record swimming around anywhere in Kanas or Missouri where I normally fish.  Next spring when I go back to Texas though......... 5:20 every morning............. well first I will go for 5:15.

Grandma's Peanut Butter Cookies on the  are always on the boat.

When a tournament is up and coming I say to people " I got another tournament to win" I also have copenhagen to calm my nerves.

I had a little thing that used to bug me, but now I am over it.

I never wanted the net handle pointed in my direction. Instead I always pointed it at my non-boater. That way it was in the correct position for them to grab it to net my fish.

First, i always wear one of many light colored fishing t-shirts, it gets me mentally hyped up.  and secondly i always "play " (i guess im really organizing) with my lures the night before my planned outing.  I used to not do this, but since i started in the last 8 months ive gotten bit more...  who knows!?

I'm not superstitious, but I have a friend that throws a dollar in the water to start every trip.

i always wake up at 3:30 for tournaments because it  what time i accedentily woke up for my first tournament, if i hadnt woken up, i would have missed my first tourny because my alarm clock did not go off.

I always take my wide mouth thermos, fill it with boiling water and toss in a few hot dogs.  Nothing like a hot lunch out on the boat.  Try it sometime, works great!

Wasnt it hard for you to grab it when your co-angler had one on?  ;)

When I have a great fishing day,the cap I'm wearing becomes my "lucky fishing cap" .I'll wear it until the fishing drops off.I'll wear various caps until I have another great day.I'll wear that one until the fishing drops off again.

Now that's an appropriate ritual!  We all do that every time we go fishing.
