Favorite technique

Featured Replies

Decided to join in on the "what's your favorite..." bandwagon and post this question.  What is your favorite technique for catching bass?  I probably do more soft plastic fishing than anything else, but my most fun seems to come from having a big 'ole hawg hit a crank bait.  What is your favorite:  soft plastic, spinner, buzz bait, topwater, crank, c-rig...?

for excitement definately a topwater, nice and slow right about dusk

for consistancy and quality fish crankbait or ratl trap ripped over weeds

for quanity 4 in kut-tail/4 in senko/3 in grub t- rigged, drop-shot or wacky

for a good time 1 800 BASS PRO!

For fun: Jerkbaits

For big bass: Soft plastics

I love to catch bass on topwater lures, its just exciting to see em hit the top of the water and grab the topwater lure and run, but i think more than anything I love to fish soft plastics like worms slow along the bottom, probably because ive been doing it all my life.

when they're hitting top water, that's my favorite hands down. other than that it's probably working a crankbait through timber.

Most fun is topwater for sure, especially buzzbaits.  I am probably most skilled though a flipping and pitching jigs and soft plastics though.  I love the feeling when you set the hook, with a jig especially, and the thing doesn't budge then starts making the drag sing.

I like the feel of a crankbait jerking back. ;)[glb][/glb]

topwater and jiggin are the most gratifying for me but my "favorite" thing to do is to MIX IT UP.

Increasing versatility and conquering new techniques.

I have no Favorites anymore. I just use what works that particular day. If you have a favorite that you use every time or so, you will tend to get tunnel vision and miss the chance to cast what is working best for that particular situation.

I like to fish like KVD,power fishing and throwing a thousand casts.Lately,I've been doing a lot of Carolina-rig fishing.I guess you could call it the"power " fishing of soft plastics.
