jig pitching no-no

Featured Replies

Howdy y'all.

I just thought I would pass on a bit of knowledge I gained regarding pitching a jig.

Be sure to hold the jig with the hook point facing up. I made a strong pitch last evening and set the hook really well into the tip of my index finger.  Just a little tid bit to keep us all healthy.

It usually only takes once to get the point on that subject.  LOL ;D ;D

I feel your pain avid!!! Last summer, I had a musky thrash after I landed him. I was just getting ready to take the treble hook out when it kicked its head up and drove two of the three hooks on one of the trebles into two of my fingers! So not only was the fish still hooked but I was too! NOT FUN!

Agreed! (from experience :'()

Ditto!

Last weekend my son learned that pitching a crankbait isn't all that smart!!!

Buried one of the trebles in his finger!!

I guess we all live and learn!!!!

I learned that pitching a Spinnerbait, still do it though.

avid, good advise since i am just learning!  i think i can go without a hook through a finger (s) or hand!

It usually only takes once to get the point on that subject.  LOL

HeHeHe....man I sure hope so  :P
