Byron & Mary

Featured Replies

I see a great future for these 2 should they be able to beat the odds and stay together.

They appeal to a wide range. Both great looking, both very capable anglers. Very personable, I've never heard Byron talk junk or spew at someone when it wasn't all in good fun.

Now, they are reporters at the classic, another nice touch having Mary reporting too.

I saw a show they did together on Amistad, their home lake.  Very entertaining and somewhat informative.  Played a little like a travel ad for Amistad but now I wanna go there so,..it worked! lol

I can just see these 2 fitting alot of places in the sport. With the women coming into their own, Mary could stand to be a leader in their class for promoting the sport depending on how she carves her future.

The whole "Bachelor" story of how they met doesn't hurt the Bio either.

I like them, I guess that's all I'm saying. They represent well.

Couldn't agree more  ;)

A lot of people bad mouth Byron's ability to fish but most who mouth off don't understand how hard it is to compete at that level.

Exactly. He sees the bigger picture, he gets to live a dream. He's happy ALL THE TIME and although I can totally see how this could rub some folks wrong, HE SHOULD BE HAPPY ALL THE TIME!!!

If he lived the dream and took it for granted or was a smug punk pretty boy, well then we would have a better reason but otherwise, I'll be the first to admit,...that's one ride I would enjoy too!

Mary is definitely a nice touch  :-* ;)

I agree too.  In the little I have seen so far it seems to "work"

Forget the fishing coverage, I just want to see the Hooters boat and Mary all day.   8-)

I agree with Burley

Even with all of the negative talk in past posts about Byron's lack of fishing success,I've always admired him.He didn't get to fish the Elite series by being a bad angler.

are you sure his home lake is Amistad?  i knew him in college in calif and then he moved to Nevada on lake Mead

Bad choice of words.  Their "new" "second" home lake, lol.  Lots of pro's have been buying and building on Amistad, including Byron and Mary.

The word around town here is that he just went into a partnership with someone and bought the Amistad Lodge, or at least the restaurant just ajacent to it.  I heard from someone who works there that the have really big plans for it.  It is about time!

I think in the show they said they bought a 9 acre resort and another 3 acre satellite lot for a guest house.

OK, I'm ignorant and freely confess it.  So, who the hell are Byron and Mary?

The Bachelor Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado.  I assume they are wed.

They are ESPN's 'sideline' reporters for the Classic.

Very nice touch in my opinion.  From what I understand they did buy the lodge at Amistad.  I've been invited to go down and take a look at some investment opps down there as well.  When I do go I will make sure to report back.

Robert

I would gladly offer my services as a construction supervisor to over see you investment project, cost would be minimal.

Modest salary, room/board, and access to that little Ranger  ;)

I could get Fourbizzle as General Foreman for a similar deal  ::)

The fishing bum at your service ;)

robert, build a golf course, I'll run it for you!   :D  Or, do a fancy lodge and I'll take care of the grounds!  :D  OK, just buy a house, I'll mow your yard!! ;D ;D  I'm tired of Kansas weather. :(

;D ;D

You guys kill me.  What's wrong with Arkansas weather?  I've never been down to Amistad but Im looking forward to going.

It's raining outside right now.  I would have loved to have gone fishing today too. :(

I heard she shaved her head and was checking into rehab.

Have they wed yet? I don't see any ring on his finger.

Mary was and is his best catch ever.

Gotta love it when Avid chimes in.  Always spot on with info...

I don't know about anyone else, but I could give or take either one. I saw the Hooter's boat as a distraction, both to the anglers and TV viewers. I didn't tune in to look at women. I can go watch some late night cable if I want to do that. As far as Mary (eh, I wasn't impressed). It's kind of like watching Leslie Visser on the sidelines of a football game. The women reporters just don't seem to fit. I'm not big on any women reporters/hosts on outdoors/sports programming unless they are very knowledgeable of the subject (which most don't seem to be). As far as "eye candy" is concerned, there's plenty of other avenues for that. I don't want anyone to think me as sexist (my wife agrees with me on this subject).

This is just my opinion.
