I just googled this and found a link that is titled "What's new for 2006." It has a slightly different shape when compared with the rattlin' rap and uses a single steel ball and external metal disks to create the sound.  I wasn't aware of this lure.

From the threads posted so far, it doesn't appear that we have too many real life experiences with this bait yet.  

I'm hoping to try one this spring but I haven't decided which pattern to buy. I bank fish so I have to be careful of rapidly sinking (expensive) lures, as I have no way to retrieve them from snags.  Still considering the Mossback Shiner.

I read something about it in north American fishing club, but I have never fished it before, waiting for some one else to wast there money test it then tell me if it's worth it ;D ;D

It's big, fat, heavy and you can cast it 17.3 miles.  It's got the great finish of newer Rapala lures - clear with a reflective insert.  Great hooks.  I didn't detect a lot of action when retrieved slow, but it seems to do much better on a more moderate or fast retrieve.  The rattle sound is very subtle compared to other lipless.  It sinks, fast, nose first.  It will sit on the bottom on its nose with its tail sticking up.
