Ish Monroe

What a class act.

Ish has always been known as the "approachable", every day guy.

He is very popular with the on-line community as well.  He answers his own emails and answers questions for every day anglers just like us.  If you watch the "yo Ish" segments on ESPN, you'll notice that whether you are a pro or a rookie, a man or a woman, a kid or an adult, you get the same old, friendly, educator of a guy.

Thumbs up to Ish for keeping his roots firmly planted.

You can always tell when someone is raised right and Ish is one. I hope to run into him one of these days and see if he'll loan me a Steez or two! :-?

Ish has been one of my favorites for a while now. I love to watch a guy like him, whether he's fishing or talking about fishing he has the same level of enthusiasm.

This guy is a great pro, I remember him best with his tube and jig tactics. 8-)

I like his attitude.  Every pic you see him in he always has an ear to ear grin or smile.  It's fun being around people like that.   8-)

Agree. I like Ish.  He was on Roland Martin a while back and seems like a real classy guy.

Last year, Lois and I made a trip to Cypress Lake (a less crowded lake in the Kissimmee chain).

We put-in on the south shore of Lake Toho, then entered the lock at Southport canal.

To get into the lock, you need to jerk on a dangling rope that rings the bell at the lockhouse.

While our lock was filling with water, I chatted briefly with the woman proprietress.

As you might expect, this woman meets all the biggest names on the tournament circuit on a regular basis.

However, she only seen fit to mention one man, you guessed it...Ish Monroe.

She said that Ish came into the lock one day after a really tough day on Cypress Lake,

but said that Ish was extremely pleasant and had a great sense of humor. To me at least, that speaks volumes.

I like Ish too, as LBH stated he doesnt forget his roots. He truly appreciates what he's been given and what he's worked so hard for and he let's everybody know it. I met him at the Elite on Smith Mtn this year, heck of a nice guy, people were lined up trying to get an autograph.

You can really tell that he genuinely likes what he's doing and has fun doing it no matter what's going on.

Sometimes on the "yo ish" segments ish is here in orlando fishing on disney's 7 seas lagoon. I'm going to book a trip with a guide there soon. plus it might be free because my aunt is a disney executive  ;)   maybe ill run into ish, that would be cool.

Maybe it's just the west coast in me, but he is one of my favorite anglers.  I recall a segment I saw on ESPN where he'd get pulled over to check to see if the bass boat he was towing was stolen, and now when he gets pulled over, it's for an autograph!  ;D

When does this Yo Ish piece come on? Sad to say, I've never heard of it. ::)

Ish is a very nice guy.  Meeting him last week I can tell you all the stories are true.  Very approachable, and very down to earth.

He was at The Bass o Rama at Anglers Marine in So Cal

Ish is definatley a great person as well as one heck of an angler.  I have talked to him a few times threw his site and he always responds.  To me that speaks volumes.  You know he is extremely busy, but when he can find some time he makes sure to get back to his fans.

he is one of my fav. also...If I remember corectly, he did a set of questions through BR. Answered my question perfect.

Bass-a-thon... but close enough  ;)

I met him there last year.  He was taking Denny B. around the tables and showing him all of the swimbaits.  Very cool guy!
