Wildest Thing?

Featured Replies

What is the wildest living thing you have seen a bass eat?  I think for me it has to be a chipmunk.

A stingray.  Gotta love the brackish water.

didn't try to eat it, but i did see a bass attack a beaver once. pretty strange

I don't know where I saw it (youtube maybe?) but it showed a bass eat a baby alligator.  :o

A blackbird sitting on a leaning cattail reed.

Big O

A senko. I will always wonder what bass exactly think a senko is.

Baby duck

I've seen many baby ducks and geese disappear in my canal, but that's all.

Falcon

I didn't see it eat it but I found a snake in the stomach of a bass years ago.

Kind of off topic but Ive seen duck looking lures for bass.

dough bait for catfish.

my brother caught a bass on a green leaf he picked up off the ground

had to be one of the more interesting things i've seen in awhile

I have seen huge bass inhale 9 - 12 inch long Iguanas.

While fishing with a friend of mine 5 or so years ago in Rhode Island,he caught a bass around 4# on a spinnerbait ,and when he went to remove the hook there was a tail hanging out of the it's mouth. He pulled  on the tail thinking it was a lure and out came a small squirrel........I wouldn't beleive it if I didn't see it with my own eyes.....

:o x2

Thats the coolest thing I have ever seen

are you guys serious? chipmunks squirrels and baby ducks!? weirdest thing i saw was a LM attacking small pieces of reeds that where floating in the water.

When I was a kid, fishing (and not catching!!  ::) ) with my dad, I was dangling my hook about 6 inches out of the water.  He yelled at me, that a fish would never bite it if it wasn't in the water.

Flash forward 20-some years.  It was a hot July day, just as it was getting dark.  I threw a hoola-popper with no luck.  Finally, I snagged it in a clump of grass.  The popper was about 10 inches out of the water, hooked in some grass.  I started pulling it at me, hoping to break free from the grass, and making it rattle like crazy.  It was about 10 feet from shore.  Suddenly the lake erupted beneath the grass as a HAWG jumped up and grabbed it.  It scarred me so much I dropped the rod.  Luckily there was enough slack to pick the rod up before it disappeared completely!  So you can catch them OUT of the water!

And yes, I still use that rod. ;D
