helo i am new to this site and i have a qeastion about some stuff.ok what methods do u gies ussauly fish small ponds. i ussaly fish a buzz bait,spinerbait or texas rigged worm with no weight.so any help.

try a wacky rigged senko, that always works for me in ponds

I would throw everything you have at them until you find something that works. I have the most success with t-rig lizards or weightless senko in watermelon colors or zara spook jr.

1) Keep an eye out for bass crusing the shore in search of food

2) Fish all visible structure

3) Find areas where the depth changes

4) Cast under overhanging trees

Those sound like good choices. I use pretty much anything you would use on large lake except diving cranks (losing them ) and WELCOME to the forums!!!

I agree with using anything you'd use on a large lake. I'd be concerned with the conditions you're facing, not with the pond's acreage.  

Try some night fishing.

I fish ponds a lot, and also like throwing spinner-baits and buzz-baits. Weightless texas-rigged worms work great for me too. If you can't catch them on a weightless worm however, I would recommend adding a small slip sinker, 1/8 oz. is a good size.  I catch a lot of pond bass that way.

jigs and a texas rigged worm with a 3/16 ounce bullet weight has always worked well for me

I've been doing really well with the Bomber "B" Fire Tiger.  Great for ponds.  Does not dive very deep.  Lots of wobble.  Size has produce larger bass.  Going back for more today!

you only need 3 baits to catch a bunch of fish in a small pond:

1: rapala dt-4 sureset (pearl grey shiner)

         fish this lure around cover or in open water adjacent to cover. or you could even just fish it in open water where you cant see any cover. this is a great search bait for small ponds.

2: berkley power worm 7" (blue fleck) rigged weightless texas.

         crawl and jiggle this lure along the bottom in some very nasty cover. its weedless, so you dont have to worry much about hanging up. this is a great fish catcher.

3: *** *** (shimmer shad) rigged weightless texas or wacky.

         cast this out by some cover and let it sink, giving it small twitches when it sinks. bass ALWAYS kill these baits.
