Air travel with rod/reel on a plane??
IMO-there many more hands touching and loading into trucks than loading into one plane. I'm going to plaster all over the tube. Be careful! Glass! fragile!!!! Not going to say that will work but lately FedEx and USPS has not been doing a super job getting my packages here, on time and in one piece. But, that's IMO!

Air travel with rod/reel on a plane??
I'm heading to Fla. this spring. Southwest airlines allows poles as long as the tube is 3" dia. and no more than 96". I have a tube that my last poles were shipped. Going to wrap them good. Can't be any worse than reg. shipping! Besides, it won't cost any extra. (noticed I didn't say free!)

Deep already?
Location: Central Indiana Temp: Ave 75 Sky: Sunny/Part. Water temp: 70 at top Fishing my local old gravel pit running fish finder all over. I noticed that the edge drops off very quickly to ave 20-25 ft deep. Most of lake is at that depth. Summer days I can catch bass dropping off the ledge with a texas rig, senko, crank, lipless. As I trolled I could not pick up any fish on the fish finder untill I found the deepest spot on the lake. Went from 20-25 to 33 ft. There were fish holding about 24 ft down. There were no structure that I could feel texas riggin. Water is very clear. Rigged up a shaky head and the bass started to tear it up! Why so deep already? Been out again and seems they are still holding in that deep spot. This time had no luck catching. Maybe need to try a drop shot? Get my worm up higher?

Canada Bass Fishing
I'n two weeks I'll be doing a fly in fishing trip in Canada. The lake we will be on is great for smallmouth. I know there will be walleye and northerns biting. What is a good line to use and what bait is good for smallies in Canada. Thanks

Revo SX grind
My Revo SX has been making a grinding sound and can feel it when reeling it in. I took it about and I can see where it is coming from. One of the small gears that sits in there does not sit tight and moves around causing the two gears to grind somewhat. Not knowing what they call this gear I can't tell you which one. But looking at it can't see how it would get "stretched" out. Oh were is "The Reel Mechanic?"

Revo SX or Citica 200D
I own both. My Citica DPV is used for crank baits. It has the 5.0:1 ratio. I really like it. My Revo SX is smaller and fits the palm well but it is starting to have internal problems. Cleaned it twice this year and finding that when I reel it in it has a grinding sound. Will post that issue. For the money you cannot go wrong with the Citica.

Frog Rod, What exactly does that mean?
I was wondering as well. Here in Central Indiana in my area. There are no topwater cover. All open. Grass on the bottom. So, this setup would be of no use to me. I think.

qeastion about pond fishing
I've been doing really well with the Bomber "B" Fire Tiger. Great for ponds. Does not dive very deep. Lots of wobble. Size has produce larger bass. Going back for more today!

old rock quarrey
Yeah! what he said! ;D I fish a old gravel pit that is super clear. It is only about 40ft at it's deepest. On sunny days you can see 15-20 ft. deep. I catch more bass on plastic texas rigged worms or senko style fishing than anything else. Natural colors.

venom worm glue
I'm wondering if all this chemical bonding will effect strikes due to the chemical leaching into the water?

where do the big ones lurk
The larger ones are always on the opposite side of the pond when I fish. ;D

Bad line, Bad batch
How do you know the line is bad? I've posted a few time on this site about this line I'm using. I have tied 4 different knots and all break when completing the knot. And yes, i know how to tie a knot.
-
Bad line, Bad batch
It was P-Line Evolution. I don't have the receipt anymore. I got it a Sportsmans Warehouse.

Bad line, Bad batch
For many of us that have bought a bad batch. what to do with it? I just now got my first crap spool. Can I take it back or do I bite the bullet?

P line Fluoro
I'm using P-Line Halo on my crank pole and you can't see the line hardly at all. Knots hold very well. IMO it is a little stiff. The P-Line Evolution sucks! I'm going to strip all of it off my worm pole. Can't get any type of knot I tie to not break. Might be a bad batc. I emailed P-Line and haven't heard from them at all. >

PLine Evolution
Yes, I do lube my line. Tried palomar, tryline knot, improved cinch knot, blood knot, and a few others and the line snaps.
-
PLine Evolution
Anybody try this line? I cannot get a knot to hold. Any knot I try will break. I have lost more fish/hooks to this line breakage. Tonight I tied 4 different knots to a EWG 5/0 hook and each one broke!

Rod Cases
I use the bazooka to carry my rods for long trips. Now if I'm going to one of the local Lakes or pond I use my rod socks that I got from BPS.

Do scents applied to baits really help that much?
I have a large jar of minced garlic in the fridge. Wonder if I mixed the garlic juice with olive oil will it work? :-/

Pond fishing.
1. senkos cost too much! 2. flukes. 3. spinners- white/silver white/blue always have been my top for ponds 4. weedless frogs 5. texas rigged plastic worms.
-
flukes??
I find them good for ponds that have alot of snot grass. I use white alot. Throw out twitch pause twitch pause. Acts like a dying fish. When i get to a open pocket in the overgrown snot I let it sink. POW! *** ***

PLine Evolution
On my Revo sx , med-Hvy fast action rod I have the PLine Evolution Copolymer 8lb. line. I tie a palomer knot. The line is fresh. I am breaking the line at the knot. Yesterday I had 2 break off. The two bass together couldnt weigh 1 lbs. Super Dinks! But the line broke at the top of the knot. I moisten the line, make sure the string is above the loop in the hook and knot has not loop spots in it. Also I cannot tie a crank with this line and a palomer knot. Line will snap everytime I tighten the line. I have to go with a tryline knot for it to hold. HELP!
