pond fishing
My best luck when fishing ponds is using a spinnerbait. I fish one that when they built it they put a 10 ft. walking path next to the edge. But the dummards who built it put the run off pipe 2 ft. above it so the water level is at the pipe. They ledge is a super spot for me to bank fish with a spinner.

braid on a spinning reel
I've been told that you need to put mono on first because the braid will spin on your reel and not get tight to keep line in place. True? or not

I watched a evenrude 4 Hp made in 1970 short shaft with a weed guard go for $265.00 today on ebay. Looked like a good motor for the price.

Noodling
That's the key right there. that would be the ONLY way I MIGHT think about it. But again......If your fingers get bit by a muskrat or turtle. Be kinda hard to hold that brew.

Boat motor
The thing is I don't want the max this boat or sm. lake can handle. I have a motorglide trolling motor. the cost of that was around $100.00. It does a great job scooting the boat around the water. i want an outboard that has more HP than that and is NOT to big for these small lakes. with my big a** in the back(220lbs) the boat front is already tipping up some. I don't need a motor that will lug the back end too much. I never ran a 4-6 HP motor. So I don't know the speed it has. when I was a kid ole' pops had a Green flake fiberglass cobra with a 85 HP Johnson on it. coolest boat i have ever seen. We called it Kermit. Boat never was stored outside. So, poor boy like me needs to know what HP would be a good ole' motor for this aluminum boat I have. Thanks guys

Good tackle box
I'm assuming hard tackle boxes are out and the soft boxes are in.

Good tackle box
I'm wondering what most of you use to put your tackle in. I have a regular tackle box that I'm now needing something else to put my soft bait in. So, what do you like..

CRAPPIE NIBBLES VS LIVE MINNOWS
I grew up mostly in central Florida. We did alot of Crappie fishing. We only used minnow on a slip bobber. Had great luck. Next month a bunch of us are going to Kentucky Lake (Tennesse side) I have been stocking up on jigs and other type crappie lures. I'm thinking on trying the nibbles. I'll let you know how well I did when I get back.

Boat motor
I have a 12ft aluminum boat with three bench seats. I have bolted 2 swivel type chairs in the front and back. Great boat to throw in the back of the truck and take off. All we have aound my area are large ponds or small lakes. Whatever you want to call them. I have been using my trolling motor and it scoots it right along. I'm thinking of getting a small motor for it now. Boat is 12ft X 5ft. I want a small motor. What size will be best? Weight wise and go power. 4HP? 6HP?

What have I done....
I live here in Indiana. Tuesday it was in the high 70's. Yesterday it was a high of 31 and spitting snow and windy. It's too bad I'm not rich. I would pack my bags and move where it is always 75-85 year round. It also has to have great fishing. can't forget that.

braid on a spinning reel
Why do you need to tie a mono leader with the PowerPro line? Wouldn't the moss green blend in? Or the red disapper because of the color spectrum? I have on my spinning rod the Berkley Triline Maxx for a couple weeks now and noticed that if you run your hand down the line you can feel rough spots. It's now starting to get spirals in the line. I'm using the low-vis green and I have a hard time seeing it in the water.

Braid? Who has had success?
Is there any mono that has no stretch and low memory?

Noodling
This old boy I know weighs around a buck fifty. He is crazy enough to noodle. He went down in 8 ft. water to an old hollow log stuck his arm in and a cat almost half his weight latched on. The ole' boy about drowned. There is NO way I would do his. I want to keep my fingers.

How do you guys fish the super flukes?
I tried to fish a Zoom Baby Bass fluke last night in one pond with murky water and another pond that is mostly clear with alot of bloom right now. I had no luck at all. I'm wondering if I'm fishing these right. I'm casting letting it sink alittle with tip up giving it a small twitch. Reel up slack wait 2-5 sec then twitch again. I twitch it hard enough that I can feel the bait "bump" Is this right? Any suggestions?

Quality spinner baits
I will probably buy the pre poured heads. I just think it will be cool to make 10 or so to fish with and give a few away. Hoping someone will catch a bass on a lure I put together. Thanks everyone for your input.

Tackle shop ratings
BP is about 2 hours away. It's a new store. The only time I have been to a BP is the one in Springfield, Missouri. 12 years ago on my honeymoon. We only had about an half an hour to spend. Four hours later I was still looking. Let me tell you, I thought it was a good way to start the honeymoon. Well, not for her. Boy! you talk about mad! And if you are thinking "Is he still married to her?" The answer to that thought. "NO!" We have a Sportsman's Warehouse 3 miles down the road. I really like it. I think they have alot of bait, rods and reels. They do need to advertise better. Dicks is about 2 miles down the road at the mall. My opinion is that they stink. There fishing selection is terrible. They need to stick to selling there fancy running clothes and over price bicycles and get out of hunting and fishing. My opinion.

Hot Springs, Arkansas/ Mount Ida, Arkansas
Just got back from Mount Ida, Arkansas. My son and I went Quartz digging in a open mine. Hot Springs is only 24 miles away and there was something happening there that made me want to switch from digging to fishing. There were bass boats everywhere. Mount Ida was full as well. I told my son who is 11 that next year we will be fishing instead of crystal digging. Has anyone been down there? I left all my brochures at home so I can't remember the names of the lakes.

Spinnerbait blades
I have been looking at the Real Pro's tip sheet and one of the blades is a hatch blade. Has anyone used this blade before? Looks like it would be used for more vibration. What about blades that are textured? The ones that are dimpled.

Quality spinner baits
I'm interested in making some spinerbaits for myself. How much money is involved to get started if I buy the ones with the heads poured and painted. They really seem easy to build.

casting and reeling
As a lefty I have had to deal with most things designed and built for righthanders. I bought a book one time that explained all the products out in the world that is made for the majority righthander. It brings a smile on my face to see that finially righthanders need to switch hands. ;D
