Re: rubber worm question
Slow, slow, slow. You can never fish them too slow. Lately with the heat and clear skies all I have been doing is texas rig worm fishing. The bass are laying in 20+ ft. of water.

whats the best way to find bass from the bank?
The 2 ponds I have next to my house are not that big. I just walk around the shore doing what matt said and fan fish. We do have a few that fish these ponds as well. I tend to see what they are using all the time and use something different. Fish arn't dumb! They will fiqure what not to bite. A few weekends ago I caught 30 bass fishing a total of 4 hours. (Saturday morning for 2 hours Sat. night for 1 and Sunday morning before Church for an hour) I went to Church with fish smelling hands. ;D

Texas rig questions
The key to fishing a worm is slow. I have been texas rigging all this week and have done very well. I raise the tip of my pole very slow. I know the patience level will take some practice after using spinners and buzz baits. When I notice I am going to fast I will cast out and close my eyes and concentrate on my retreval techneque. It helps me to slow down. When you get the tap tap I usually pause to see if the fish picks it up. If you see slack start to build up or your line going to one side lower rod reel in slack and set hook. Good luck.

Fishing with plastic worms
10 years ago DNR took over 4 old gravel pits and turned them into small lakes. The one I fish is super clear. Can see down 15 ft or so. The lake runs 20 -30 feet deep and is mostly steep drop offs. Not much for cover. Has some small brush on the edge. The edge of the lake has a green veg. mat and *** you hit 8-10 feet you start to get into the tall 3-4 ft. grass/weeds. I have been going out every day the past four days. I have found the bass have been hitting Zoom trick worms watermellon with red flakes. I am texas rigging them with a bullet weight retreaving slow. With the clear water and lack of cover I been catching them in about 20+ ft. of water. Is there maybe other ways I can fish these plastic worms to produce better results? My boat is a Sea Nympth 12ft. alluminum. With the slighest wind the front of the boat goes everywhere. I do use a anchor in the back to keep me in a spot to work it but I'm just starting out using weightless baits and I tend to get discourage with my boat flip flopping that I go back to bullets. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Pond fishing this weekend
The pond at my subdivision has alot of snot grass, weeds whatever it is. There for a while the snot grass was terrible. Now it is mostly gone. Most of the pond is shallow so alot of grass with pockets. Geese and ducks out of the wazoo. The bank is mostly goose crap. d**n birds! Ok so, This weekend I thought I would try a slug-o. Never tried them. I would throw them behind the pockets, give them a little jerk-pause and BLAMO! Caught 32 bass. All were peanuts. Around 1 1/2 lbs or less. But was fun. I have been told there are larger bass in this pond. Will be keeping my eye out for him/her.

I have the Revo Sx and it is a super reel. Went fishing all last week and used all sorts of baits. Adjustments were easy and backlashes were low.

Finding Bass in big open water
We fished 15'-25' waters down at Kentucky Lake all last week. I tried worms,Rattle traps, deep dive cranks. Only thing I caught was 2 stripers and a crappie on my ratt. trap. Had no luck at all catching large mouth. :'(

Best fillet knife
My old knife was a Rapala. It did keep a sharp edge. I had the large one. I want one with a longer blade. I find when I remove the skin off the fillet the tip of my knife curls up a little. It might be I'm pressing to hard. I'm all about getting all the meat I can. No waste! Besides catching crappie we caught alot of red ears and blue gills. Some of the old timers brought a fish skinner. Rolled the skin off slick! That was the best way to save alot of meat. Remove the head, top fin and bottom fin. Remove the guts and skinned it. All was left was the backbone. After deep frying the bones pulled out in one piece. Lot more meat and great flavor!

Best fillet knife
The last day at Mansard Island on Kentucy Lake Filleting crappie my knife broke at the handle. I now need another knife. Can you guys give me suggestions on another knife to buy? I do not want a electric. I watch many men using them and they leave more meat on the carcass. Just need a good long blade flillet knife.
