Heading up to walmart this weekend i think, If i aint fishing yet i guess ill grab some gear so im ready in the next few weeks.

What are some good baits walmart will have?? Mostly fishing in ponds or little lakes.

If ya can post a picture of the bait/lure so i know what to grab

don't go to walmart, spend your hard earned money at mom and pops bait shops. They need it more than walmart ceos. Just my own .02

I could probably do that, There's one right on my street (Family owned)

but.. I bet there a lot more expensive then walmart

Your request is pretty vague, we don't know if you want to fish in Idaho or Florida, from the bank or in a boat? A little more info would be nice. All levels of bass fisherman are helped here, but you have to help us help you.

i live in Massachusetts and most likely from the shore

My WalMarts have lame fishing sections so I stick with Bass Pro.

Pond fishing equal weightless worms in my book...if your gear is suitable for weightless.  Get you some zoom trick worms(even lizards) in green pumpkin or watermelon, they have kinami stick baits in some stores(which are senkos) so get you some o those, green pumpkin again(these are actually heavy without weight).

Get you a spinnerbait or 2 too.....

i been fishing since i was a kid (21 now) but this year i wanna take it serious and keep progressing.

Gutter my sugestion for you is to try shoping at Northern Bass Supply which is located on rt 125 north of you about 14 or 15 miles away. I usually order from Bass Pro. But this year i think I will order/ shop with  Nortern bass Supply wich is close to me and along the way when i go fishing in New Hampshire.  Check out there web site. I just received a catolg yesterday. The prices for line, lures, and just in general compare with Bass Pro.

  I would sugest that all the members of this forum check them out.

Be careful with the $1 spinnerbaits. They catch fish, but after one bass on them the wire bends and the hooks go dull. I'd rather buy a $5 spinner that catches many fish than a bunch of $1 spinners that break after one fish

I think wally world only has cheap China junk I dont shop of tackle there.

I've never had a problem with anything from wally world except the eagle claw hooks.

I have gotten a ton of their renegade brand jerkbaits, drilled holes in the top of them, replaced the plastic beads with BB's, filled the hole I drilled with a dowel, sealed with epoxy, replaced hooks with gammy's... and made jerkbaits that are on par with any that money can buy.  (Please not that I didn't make up this process, someone on here or T.U. posted it and it's a great tutorial if you can find it).

I made the Mistake of buyin a cheap wallyworld spinner..secdond cast the skirt fell off.. >

I agree, shop at the mom and pop shops if possible..W/o going into a triad..walmart doesn't do much good for anyone. imho..
