Bass Pro 6 month to pay

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if Bass Pro is going to be having their 6 month to pay plan?

Fathers-day I'm told. You can request it any time I'm told.

Nice info, will check into this.  Need a couple new reels.

Thanks, :)

Cool! I bought my first curado using that plan. If I were to buy another curado, I wonder if I should use my Cabela's Visa card.  ;D

I don 't understand the policies of the plan, here 's why, ok, when you purchase with your CC the CC company pays the seller imediately, it 's your CC the one who accepts the plan and finances you the purchase, it 's not BPS financing you, it 's the CC company.

A few years ago I purchased some things and paid them with one my US CCs ( Laredo National Bank ), ask them to be delivered to my US adress ( actually my US house in MacAllen ), you see any problem there ? well, a few hours later I got a mail from BPS saying they couldn 't process the order because I was not a US resident, WTH !?! what they wanna see ? my US passport too ?

I don 't get it, US citizen, with a US CC owning a house in the US and can 't get the 6 month payment plan ?

Dang, if the bank trusts me with a CC even though most of the time I don 't reside in the US why can 't they trust me ? heck, if they want references about how good is my credit why don 't they call the bank ?

Maybe I got a bad credit history cuz I don 't owe anything.  ::)

IF you live by the adage that "if you cant pay cash you cant afford it" you wouldn't have to worry the payment plans or the consequences.

House or trailer ?

I just got an e-mail this morning that they are doing it for the next two weeks.

He said if you can't pay for anything with out credit then don't buy it . I was wondering if he bought a house (expensive to say the least  , with cash or finanaced it), or a trailer(a lot less money and paid cash for it.)

You're comparing apples to oranges.

There is quite a difference between buying some fishing reels and the roof over your head.  There are very few people that can pay cash for a home (trailer or otherwise).

Credit is not a bad thing as long as you know how to control it.  A credit card, used properly, can benefit you in many ways including boosting your credit score.

Sorry, I'm a Dave Ramsey follower.  A home is the only thing I will finance ever again.I financed my home for 15 years. I paid it off in 8. Its all mine. Its fully understandable to finance as large a purchase as a house. What working man has 100 G's sitting around. But anything else besides that should be paid for cash only. The Zero interest offers are a semi scam. They live for the day when you dont pay it off in time. (And 85-90 % of people dont) Then the past interest accrues at a much higher rate and they win, you lose. Its as simple as that.

Got one also.  Good till April 6th

Point one.

Buy some rod and reels on credit....sure its easy. Then Hey whats 3 grand for a fish finder. 6 months same as cash....no problem.....Its just for a few months. d**n....Theres that new truck I want.....only 500 a month..I'll get that too. Fast forward 6 months......what do you mean I'm getting laid off and have to sell my house? Happens many times every day. Very few people have control over it.

Point Two

You and I have obviously different financial philosophies. My goal is to have a credit score of zero. The only thing I will borrow money for is a house and any reputable bank will manually underwrite a home loan.

A credit score only reflects how much you love to be in debt.

Not trying to sound superior or any thing but I've lived both ways and debt free is the only way too be.

All I can say is what works for me may not work for you, and vice versa. I like to get my "points" and I have not carried a credit card debt past the initial month, ever.

That's what makes the world go 'round.

I have seen people mention Ramsey before.  I would like to see one of his seminars or peruse one of his books to help make sense of it all.

I'm not opposed to change either.   ;)

Its good that you have the control to pull it off.   Most people do not have the discipline to do that.  I know I didn't.

I was in the library (bathroom)at my sisters one day and found"Financial Peace" on the magazine rack.  I read it in two days.  It changed my life.  You should read it.  My life has been a thousand percent better since.

We're done here.  We've edited this several times, but you guys just can't keep the personal attacks and politics out of it.
