Bass and baitfish

Featured Replies

Yesterday when I was out on the pond by my house fishing bass were pushing up baitfish on the surface in semi-shallow water and after I lost my hook ( it was the olny one I had) I tied a knot around a stickbait, Through it in the middle of the baitfish, and then rushed it in on top the water and the bass were smashing it.

Shallow crank and small light spinnerbait. I wish I could vote twice!

Not on the list,a small 4" swimbait (hollow body)or swimming super fluke. On the list gotta go for the spinnerbait.

None of those for the biggest fish. The biggest will be below, so a Carolina rigged soft plastic. I hear a fluke is money for this, but I still stick with a craw worm or lizard.

You want the bait to drop through the baitfish and go beneath then where the bass are holding.

Any lure that will do that will produce bites.  :)

The one I've had the most success with has been a Super Spook JR. Since that wasn't on the list I voted lipless crank.

4 in tube texas rigged so that it can spiral down to big girls.  Then used like a jiggin spoon.

copy that. goes back to size or numbers. probably catch more throwing something like Catt suggested, but casting past the boiling and dragging a white senko or fluke could get those occasional freeloader fat couch potatoes waitin on the bottom under the frenzy :)

A fluke with a heavy weighted hook would be my choice. Get down there to the bottom but giving it a little twitching motion. THis imatates a little fish has nocked the crap out it or stunned it and the bigger fish will be lazy and wait for the bait to sink down into it face.
