  4. fished last night out of 6-mile,,,7pm to 8am,,,,started out flipping grass in 9fow,,,caught 1keeper,,,missed 2 keepers,,came unhooked, but got to see them,,,bite slowed so started dragging 10.5 'ol monster dowm outside edge, 12 fow, caught 6 keepers to 4lbs,,,had to have some kind of point,,either grass or land,,around 5am, trying something different,,,flipped 3-5 fow,,1 break off,,1 5lber,,,another good keeper,,,,ended up with 18.90 at weigh in,,,best i've done on the bend in quite a while,, can't say how a day would go,,,never left 6-mile,,mostly around highline-gilleys point
  5. Well, congrats on the new addition,,,,and also, hope all is well with Catt,,and the bend is still tough for me,,,only took 9 1/2 lbs to win my small club tourny
  6. i fished friday night, out of six-mile. let me tell you, this place Kicked my butt. My partmer and i ran to high line cove and started with poppers and weight less flukes, two srikes on the fluke, ran to mcgee flats and worked 7 to 14 fow first pass thru, 1 short on a chatter bait,,went to the deep points off the lfats with big worm and jig, 12 to 30 fow,,,,nothing,,,went down to mill creek southern side working all mentioned baits and a black jitter bug, from 3 to 20 fow and nothing, back to mcgee flats, nothing,,,,into hickory ridge (little lows),,nothing,,,,ran to six-mile flats, working 7 to 10 fow,,,nothing,,back to highline, caught 1 short on brushhog thrown into the pencil grass edge,,,found out that a lot of the guys were throwing a baby brush hog into the egdes of the pencil grass and were catching 'em all night, (nothing big),,winning stringer came from around tx island,,,but they didn't say with what or what depth,,,22lbs,,,does this mean i can catch 'em shallow like that in two weeks for my club tourny?
  7. yankee, does toro have any hydrilla out in about 18 feet of water? the pepper grass or duck weed is on mcgee's in 8-10 fow,,,then milfoil,,,then hydrilla,,,out to 20 feet or so,,,work that deeper grass edge if u can,,,good luck, hope u catch a good 'un oh,,,and kentucky's are fun!!
  8. Catt, I hope it helps, be good for us to have you back
  9. caught my fish saturday, on mcgee flats,,up to 3lbs,,lots of pepper grass in the 10 fow range, lots of fish to be had but all smaller, i fished from ice box cove to hickory ridge, watching my electronics fairly close and never did see a school of fish in the 20-25 fow range, checked several points and a couple of humps i know about and couldn't not mark 'em, any less depth and you're in the hydrilla, i have a feeling i'm going to get a pretty good flipping bite in the pepper grass this year, we'll see
  10. Catt, glad to see you're back on,,
  11. Looks like the lake is up a foot in the last 2 weeks, anybody been to the public ramp by the dam,,tx side?
  12. your season is not over because of summer,,,if possible, you might try a little night fishing,,,or at least right at dusk and dawn,,,big fish still feed and sometimes shallow, in the summer, just have to work on the timing,,be careful of the night critters on the bank
  13. fished out of six-mile yesterday,,,oh man, want to talk about HOT,,no wind to speak of and 100degrees,,,water was 91 in some areas,,,but the fish were biting,,used a topwater all day, put 14lbs in the boat, fishing 8 to 10 fow, of course i've got a one got away story as well,,would have been a nice kicker,,my brother did use a stickworm and caught a couple of 15inchers,,, on a side note, Catt, are you coaching again this year? flag football
  14. Catt, just post up if you need another boat,,,been up in hemphill all weekend (without the boat),,just checking the boards and finding this.
  15. if contact is made and it is a short fish, do you still target the imediate area looking for more fish or do you move on, looking for a school of bigger fish? i've heard same size will be together but i've also heard you might have to go thru the little ones to get bigger bites.
  16. "will generally stop growing in depths of 15-18'",,,how tall would this grass be at it's edge? perhaps i'm overlooking it on my sonar,,thinking the edge is somewhat shallower..
  17. Catt, have you been in 6-mile lately? i was wondering what depth would you consider the outside edge of the grass is? in 6-mile,,,i'm sure that it varies a little from creek to creek and bottom substrate. do you think the bass go deeper, suspend over deep water, or bury up in the cover when the sun gets up? are you fishing a topwater early?
  18. alrighty then,,,here is how it went down,,,afternoon friday and from 6:00am - 4:00pm saturday,,got on the water around noon friday and went to midlake areas (coleman, little norris, norris, five fingers) caught them good, up to 4lbs on traps,,3 colors,,all had some kind of green, chartrese,,,6 fow(feet of water) outer edge of grass,,,same areas saturday using poppers on wind blown points,,,man, it was windy,,3 keepers to 3lbs,,2 breakoffs,,(my dad still uses spinning gear with light line) when the sun came up over the trees, the top water was over,,,oh, forgot, had 4 on ribbit friday,,water temps friday was 79-80, saturday 72-75,,cool night had dropped temps,,only 1 on ribbit (i was SO disappointed) switched to traps and had limits (me and my dad) by 10:00,,wind had gotten even worse and we were upgrading by oz's so we headed back to public around 1:30pm,,,talked to my buddy at noon, he only had 2 keepers,,,got bites, couldn't get them to the boat,,,i weighed in 12.31,,,my dad 10:57,,,my buddy 18.15,,,after we came back to public cove,,,he got on them with that silly jerk worm,,,i really need to try that techniquek,,,had 2 4's and all solid fish,,,should have known the bite would get better, later,,because of the friday bite,,but didn't want to fight that awful wind in a hurry to get back,,hope all this helps,,,good luck
  19. we put in about 5:30am and fast idled around to julie creek,,(just south of the bridge),,first cast at 6:00am,,using buzzbaits- nothing- using bone, yellow majic, put 4 keepers in the boat in about 45mins,,biggest was about 3 3/4lbs,,,fishing 1 to 4 fow,,,(grass),,wind started out about 5 to 7mph,,,got stronger thoughout the day,,15+/-,,after noon,,caught 2 on spinnerbait,,2 more on the yellow majic,,caught 4 on ribbit frog,,1 on light tx rig senko,,1 on weightless senko,,,1 on carolina rig worm,,3 flipping grass and pads,,i threw everything i could think of (keeping in the 1 to 4 fow),,i would catch a keeper and my pardner would cull it,,,using a merthialate colored trickworm,,weighless, leader about 18inchs to a barrel swivel,,,throwing it to the bank,,and jerking it back to the boat like a jerkbait,,,jerk, pause, jerk, pause,,,caught a 5lber on a nothing clay bank,,,trolling to next point,,,only caught fish where the wind was pushes in on,,don't mean to write a book, but we only fished julie creek and the creek that cassil bokin is in,,,hope this helps,,will be back up there friday and saturday and fish more southern,,,i'll let you know what happens,,oh,,the frog fish came around the pads,,,close to the canyons
  20. i'll be up there the next 2 weekends,,,i'll report back what any info i can,,,be out of cassil bokin this sat,,so info should be relevant
  21. a good friend of mine is fishing the RDS tourny, out of fin n feather, he tells me that he is sharing water with Rojas. a place that you go to, Catt.
  22. looks like it's going to be a little breezy, this weekend
  23. Catt, how is your foot? Back on the water yet?
  24. any time you involve government agency's,,,their is additional costs..just like any other titled item you buy,,,title transfer, taxes, etc...the trick is to get the no's,,run them,,then buy,,,be smart,,,buying a large ticket item is a process...
  25. In the state of Texas, you can still buy boats from yesteryear that never had a title,,,don't know what year tx started titles for boats (late 70, early 80;s) if you happen to buy an untitled boat,,the state will run a check on serial no.s,,if not reported as stolen, then will issue a new title,,,once titled the first time,,,then forever more..
