  1. jan 18th,,51.7 degrees (50.4 - 52.2),,visablity-3 ft,,fished traps bank shallow out to 10 fow,,1 for me, 1 for my pardner,,foggy,,,misting rain,,i know lots of guys on here can't go yet,,,but i'm still complaining about bad weather,,
  2. he'll be missed, prayers for his family,,,hope he keeps a backseat open for me when i get there
  3. Catt, are you mainly fishing points at this depth, main and secondary? Has the grass creeped out to 14 ft with the water being low for so long?
  4. my club allows guest to fish 3 times (for big bass only)without joining,,,,we try to get info from the tourney winners, like, what they caught them on, how deep, etc....and usually they will tell,,,might not tell the color or location, but you can get an idea of the pattern...good friendly competition
  5. those 'are' interesting marks,,,maybe standing timber?,,,can't really see a reason for them in topo mode,,
  6. fyi,,,,that's where Ken Cook got his bass fishing roots,,,never fished the the preserve, but there are several good lakes in the area,,,
  7. skeeterdon, you did better than i did saturday,,1 on topwater early, 1 on frog about 11:30 and 1 flipping the outer grass edge about 3:30, overall a hot, long day,,,tried deeper points and humps and couldn't get bit
  8. fished rayburn yesterday,,the 10th,,caught nothing but shorts,,,had topwater bite early (shorts), went to worms and frogs,,no frog bites,,shorts on worms, out to 20 fow on main lake points,,this low water has me puzzled a little bit, thought the grass would be to shallow for them, (out to maybe 4 fow) but friends caught theirs wacky worming the edge of mats
  9. Catt, have you heard any info on pulling the water down a couple more feet? heard a rumor and checked around abit, but couldn't confirm anything,,
  10. Jack, when is your next trip to big sam?
  11. thanks Catt, i'll try that when i'm back up there on the 8th,,,,hopefully the wind will lay down by then, so i can work more main lake stuf
  12. i feel for you Jack, sounds like you were on some fish though,,,
  13. put in at 6-mile this morning,,was to windy to fish the main lake stuff,,,ended up in miles creek to get out of the wind,,,caught 25,,2 keepers,,most were schoolers,,tried tx rigs but no bites with the bait not moving,,,most bites were from reeling the bait back slowly,,caught the schoolers on chrome/blue trap
  14. Jack, be safe on your trip,,,hope you catch 'em,,let us know, when you can, how you did,,,
  15. Jack, my friends were there 4 weeks ago so the info they have is really no longer relevant,,,but i did find out that tpwd has info on the lake water elevations, they chart weekly so you can tell the trends
  16. Lake water clear. Lake is 87 Degrees and is 3.66' below pool level. Largemouth Bass are good on chartreuse/white Spinner Baits and large soft plastics.... got this from great texas bass fishing weekly reports
  17. good info Jack,,keep us informed and we'll post what happens to us when we fish there
  18. Thanks Catt, for the suggestions, and insights,,,i've been tied up with flag football and haven't gotten much water time lately,,,so SkeeterDon,,,i'm envious of your weekend on the water
  19. i'm not trying to beat a dead horse,,,i have read these items before and know they're major pieces of the puzzle,,for whatever reason, i'm just not sure how to put the puzzle together,,,just bear with me and i'll figure out what question or info i need to bring it all together,,,maybe just MORE time on the water,
  20. thanks Catt, for setting me straight
  21. Catt, the reason i'm asking,,i'm trying to tie this migration with map study ( i already have trouble deciphering what i'm looking for on a map now) especially if the lake is going to be lower..and were coming into the fall with bait and bass moving into and out of the creeks...
  22. Catt, would you explain the differences between daily migrations and seasonal migrations? when we were looking at housen community flats, you told us the 150 line was the migration route,,,do the bass just simply follow their daily routes...when the season changes, they just stay shallow? i know we have to look for the bass when we start our day,,,but we should be able to eliminate a portion of water with educated guess,,,shouldn't we?
  23. patterning bass this time of year can be tricky,,,couldn't get bit on the points saturday,,,ended up fishing the the shallower hydrilla,,,not matted,,,with t-rig to put my limit in the boat,,didn't figure it out until the end of my day,,,
  24. Jack,,,and Catt, i thought they fixed 6-mile ramp for lower water? maybe they just fixed up what was there, i know it was a menace when the lake was down a couple years ago
  25. bassmaster weekend series will be at the pavillion sat and sun,,,most ramps are usable but the lake is now over 6 ft low,,,have fun, but be careful
