Just saying hi to everyone, as I'm new to the forum today. Live in NW Ohio and tournament fished for 25 years, the last 10 years almost exclusively smallmouth tournaments (Erie, St. Clair, Ontario). Dropped out of tournament fishing two years ago, sold my boat, and let dust gather on all my tackle. This week, I said "the heck with high gas prices" and purchased another boat. It's a bit smaller than my previous one--only a 17-footer with a 90 horse--but as long as I stay on the [fairly] skinny water, I should be good to go. Have dusted off my largemouth gear and am chomping at the bit to get back to flippin' and spinnerbaitin'. Wish me luck! -- JC

Welcome to the site. That is the perfect size boat for the gas prices. I have a 18.5ft with a 90 and it is very cheep to run compaired to my buddy's Z20 Ranger. I love it.

Welcome, glad you are getting back at it ;D.

Welcome to the BassResource.com corner of the world.  Seventeen feet and 90 HP are plenty.  Get back out there and  tight lines, brother.

Wish I was in a position to just buy a boat on a whim. ;D

But welcome to the forum!

Welcome and welcome back to this very addictive hobby/habit ;)
