I'm a newbie to fishing, and decided to join up. My dad and I have wanted to start fishing for a while, but just hadn't had time.

It was my dads 50th birthday today so I stopped by Bass Pro on my way home from work and picked up two Browning Midas black bass combo rod and reels, 6ft 6in, Medium Heavy, the guy that I talked to said that they were a really good combo. He also put 10lb line on them for free. I really like the feel of the rod and reel.

What kind of bait should we try first? Also what are some mandatory things I need to toss in the tackle box?

Thanks,

Shaun

Spend some time in the BassResource.com Library,

"Fishing Articles" and "Tacklebox" at the top of the

page. The "Beginners" section is especially helpful.

Good luck!
