Hey from South Carolina

Featured Replies

Hey folks, I'm Stephen from South Carolina. Born and raised a fisherman. My family has a farm pond that I fish, unfortunately that's all I've been limited to fishing except for two or three times on a couple lakes with little success.

Our pond is stocked with largemouth, bream, warmouth, grass carp, and too many snapping turtles. Its a bit overstocked I think, I have a feeling the bass are stunted, because in the past 7 or 8 years, I've pulled nothing but 1 pounders or less out of there. Biggest bass caught in the pond was about 20 or 30 years ago by my dad, it was a 10 pounder. My personal best is a 6 pounder about 8 years ago. The bream are plentiful in the pond though, just the other weekend I pulled 15 out in just a couple hours. Still looking for that big bass to hang on my wall though ;)

Anyway, just figured I'd introduce myself, I've lurked here on the forums reading a lot for awhile now, just thought it was about time I posted something. Looking forward to enhancing my fishing skills with yall's advice.

Thanks for the welcome.

I'm from Columbia, do my fishin in Lexington, but live in Clemson.

Columbia and Clemson! You have got to be one conflicted guy when it comes to college sports. I had to cousins graduate from Clemson, they say that schools is more of a disease than a school. Judging by the amount of orange in their houses I am starting to agree with that. LOL.

Haha, I'm not conflicted at all. I'm a straight up diehard Clemson fan. I grew up in Columbia a Clemson fan and it was tough in school with practically everyone else a Carolina fan, but my Dad graduated from Clemson and that's how I grew up. LOL the orange definitely is a disease, but its a good one. Once you wear Clemson orange, you will fall in love with it  ;D
