My name is Matt, I am from Hawthorne, FL (Just outside Gainesville). I am 22 years old and I have been fishing all my life. Just got my own boat last year and have been thinking about doing some tournament fishing.

    Welcome from south central IN. This is a great place to pick up information! My advice for tournaments is start out local, then enter one series of tournaments and don"t miss any. It's kinda like racing where you build up points to qualify for a bigger payout. If you consistently finish in the money or at least close but don't miss any, you might qualify for bigger tournaments.Fishing for bigger payouts than local clubs makes it more interesting!
