Hi, from Bluefield, WV/VA

Featured Replies

Been lurking the forums for a while. I live in Bluefield, WV which lies on the WV/VA border at WV's southern border. The town is split between WV and VA, where 3 counties meet. Mercer Co. WV, Bland Co. VA, and Tazewell Co. VA.

I'm basically a newbie. My tackle box consists of a couple spinners, some jigs, 3 crankbaits, and some soft plastics. None of which I can use effectively, and I often go out and catch 0 fish. That being said, a couple days ago I went out and caught 6 Rock bass (red eyes?) and 3 smallmouth. None much bigger than 8 inches long or so, but at least I had something on the end of the line other than my lure and a couple weeds. LOL.

I fish the New River a lot, in different spots, to include Bluestone lake. I'm on the shore and/or wading more often than I'm in a boat, but I get the chance to go in a friend's boat on occasion.

Welcome aboard!

8-)

Welcome from your northern panhandle town of Moundsville!  Very pretty country down your way.  I visit Nicholas and Webster Co sometimes and down your way at least once a year.  Don't worry about the tackle amount...learn to use what you have and the skill for more comes in time....so does that dern bait monkey!  LOL

Haha, thanks. I've been up your way a few times, mostly passing through on military travel, but I went to school in Morgantown for a while.
